I have been drinking this for about a month, and my insides couldn't be happier, great for digestion, sharing now. Seems it's also very good for stabilizing blood sugar. I drink a room temperature glass first thing in the morning on empty stomach. If I drink it later in the day, I pour it over a tall glass of ice, as a treat.

Switchel: Honey, ACV and Ginger
Re: Switchel: Honey, ACV and Ginger
Oooo, I'm going to make this.
It reminds me of hone-gar, which is a daily tonic made of equal amounts of honey and cider vinegar.
You find the coolest stuff Kass, thanks

Thanks. I think there are lots of variant recipes. I read elsewhere it is good for the immune system, and for breaking up phlegm when sick.
I think it might taste good with a bit of carbonation to it, like with a splash ginger ale, club soda, or apple champagne, etc. I'll have to experiment with that.

I use yet another old time variation...there are truly lots of them. Mix in a mug:
1 cup warm water,
1 tsp each of honey and apple cider vinegar,
Sprinkle a pinch each of powdered ginger and cinnamon on top
Aids digestion, relieves arthritis, lowers blood sugar, tastes good
A good mocktail is Ginger ale and nutmeg with a splash of creamer. I got that from reading The Cat Who... Mysteries.

More awesome honey recipes! I knew getting bees was a good idea.

Unless you're Nicholas Cage. Then, it's a terrible idea and is best avoided.

Cool reference. I wonder how many folks remember that movie. Switchel seems to me to have potential as a wonderful Yule beverage.
