I just cannot get the song out of my head.
An earworm of which someone else drilled its hole.
I'm sorry.

Re: What are you listening to? part 2
Well, this is weird (for me), but Firebird, looking at your Omnia video on YouTube prompted YT to show me opera singers, and after looking at a few of those, I found this one of Kristen Chenowith. I didn't know she was an opera singer. She's got insane pipes. I'm not a fan of opera (I'm not NOT a fan. It's just not something I'm familiar with), but it's always interesting to discover that a Hollywood actress has this whole other amazing skill. I guess she shows off her skills on late night talk shows like Conan, but I either missed it or forgot about it. I also didn't watch Glee.

Re: What are you listening to? part 2
I'm only now learning that "Angel of the Morning" wasn't a Juice Newton original. Skeeter Davis wasn't the original singer either, apparently. Merrilee Rush was the singer who made it popular. I think Merrilee and Skeeter's versions are both too.... not sure how to describe it... when a singer over-enunciates their words, as if they're teaching a baby how to talk through song. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Skeeter and Merrilee were both Broadway performers.
Juice Newton... now there's someone who knows how to sing a country-pop song. She doesn't sing it like there's someone pointing a gun to her head shouting, "I can't understand the words you're singing!" I'm not a fan of over-enunciated songs, as you can plainly see.
Satan singing "Angel of the Morning" and other songs is pretty funny.
Okay, I saw your Nas "Dance" song. And I only have one thing to say to you.... It seems like a poor man's version of Tupac's "Dear Mama".
You are appreciated
When I was young me and my mama had beef
Seventeen years old kicked out on the streets
Though back at the time, I never thought I'd see her face
Ain't a woman alive that could take my mama's place
Suspended from school, and scared to go home, I was a fool
With the big boys, breaking all the rules
I shed tears with my baby sister
Over the years we was poorer than the other little kids
And even though we had different daddy's, the same drama
When things went wrong we'd blame mama
I reminisce on the stress I caused, it was hell
Hugging on my mama from a jail cell
And who'd think in elementary?
Hey! I see the penitentiary, one day
And running from the police, that's right
Mama catch me, put a whooping to my backside
And even as a crack fiend, mama
You always was a black queen, mama
I finally understand
For a woman it ain't easy trying to raise a man
You always was committed
A poor single mother on welfare, tell me how ya did it
There's no way I can pay you back
But the plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated
Lady
Don't ya know we love ya? Sweet lady
Dear mama
Place no one above ya, sweet lady
You are appreciated
Don't ya know we love ya?
Now ain't nobody tell us it was fair
No love from my daddy cause the coward wasn't there
He passed away and I didn't cry, cause my anger
Wouldn't let me feel for a stranger
They say I'm wrong and I'm heartless, but all along
I was looking for a father he was gone
I hung around with the Thugs, and even though they sold drugs
They showed a young brother love
I moved out and started really hanging
I needed money of my own so I started slanging
I ain't guilty cause, even though I sell rocks
It feels good putting money in your mailbox
I love paying rent when the rent's due
I hope ya got the diamond necklace that I sent to you
'Cause when I was low you was there for me
And never left me alone because you cared for me
And I could see you coming home after work late
You're in the kitchen trying to fix us a hot plate
Ya just working with the scraps you was given
And mama made miracles every Thanksgiving
But now the road got rough, you're alone
You're trying to raise two bad kids on your own
And there's no way I can pay you back
But my plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated
Lady
Don't ya know we love ya? Sweet lady
And dear mama
Place no one above ya, sweet lady
You are appreciated
Don't ya know we love ya?
Pour out some liquor and I reminisce, cause through the drama
I can always depend on my mama
And when it seems that I'm hopeless
You say the words that can get me back in focus
When I was sick as a little kid
To keep me happy there's no limit to the things you did
And all my childhood memories
Are full of all the sweet things you did for me
And even though I act crazy
I gotta thank the Lord that you made me
There are no words that can express how I feel
You never kept a secret, always stayed real
And I appreciate, how you raised me
And all the extra love that you gave me
I wish I could take the pain away
If you can make it through the night there's a brighter day
Everything will be alright if ya hold on
It's a struggle everyday, gotta roll on
And there's no way I can pay you back
But my plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated

LoL, that's is why I love this, it's get s folks to expand on their music. I was surprised the first time I heard Kristen too, that was an excellent clip, funny too. She's good.
I haven't been much of a fan of Rap either Crowley, I figure Blondie was an original rapper with the song Rapture
so this is probable my favorite rap song, by Eminem
then I remembered the Monkeys did something but I couldn't find it, what I did find was this...Seems more like a scat sort of sound which to me seems like the origins of Rap.
That Mikey Dolenz is quite a talent, glad he still preforms in various places around here. Like the free concerts in the park and at the Ca. Mid state fair. Don't imagine there will be a Mid State Fair this year![Sad :(](images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
blessed listening!

I know music pretty well. I happen to prefer Davis' version, Hynde's takes second place. Newton's, though I like it, is everything that went wrong with country. Then again, this was a period of life, whereby I was subjected to a massive level of metal-head brainwashing. So I might not have a legitimate point of view.

Right now I'm listening to two things.
Extraordinary Rendition by Sons of an Illustrious Father
A cover of Graveflower by Jaymz Talley.

Actually I’ve been listening the KGRA paranormal talk radio and learning new things, or new looks at old things.

Today is Tuesday, day of Mars or even Tyr's day and rune Tyr fits that nature well indeed
so I just indulge in beer and chewing tobacco and listen to metal classics which might bore a lot of folk here.
So what song to put here?
a ballad!
"Hear this voice from deep inside
It's the call of your heart
Close your eyes and you will find
The way out of the dark
Here I am
In the land... of the morning star"

Yeah singer of Liliac's got a good voice. Reminds me of Alannah Myles.
