Place pine branches over the bed to keep sickness away, or to aid the ill. Hang a pine branch over the main door of your house to ensure continuous joy within.



Medicinal Properties:

It is an antiseptic, expectorant, and tonic. An infusion of the pine needles makes an inhalant for relieving congestion. Pine needle tea can aid with healing bladder, urinary tract, and kidney problems. The needles and shoots are rich in Vitamin A and C. Use the cones and needles in a bath for breathing disorders, skin complaints, and rheumatic pain. The essential oil is used in aromatherapy for its antiseptic, antiviral, bactericidal, deodorant, and diuretic properties.

Pine cones have been long used for fertility. A small one attached to the tip of a wand makes a powerful tool for bringing about fecund energy to the rite, spell or yourself. It also sports a rather phallic look when a wand is made this way.

Many parts of pine is edible, you can boil young cones, but all species produce edible seeds in their mature cones. Pinion being the best. Needles make a tasty tea that is high in vitamin C, the inner bark is also edible. Make sure you are taking from an actual pine and not Yew or Norfolk pine which are toxic.
