Fae visit or something else?

I think I had a Fae encounter and want to know if anyone else has had a similar experience or knows what else may have visited or happened.

Earlier in the day, I placed my first fae offering inside a faery house in the garden. I told the fae that this was an offering to them and went back inside. A little later while I was meditating, I experienced a tickling sensation in my ears that I've never experienced before. I couldn't help but wonder if someone was trying to speak to me. There was a different energy, for a short time, then I'm used to feeling during meditation.

That night in bed I awoke to singing. The voice was haunting but not in a scary way. It was incredibly similar to this:

Maybe someone has heard something like this before? My husband told me the next morning that he had heard jovial guitar music in the night at around the same time.

We both heard talking after we woke up and felt a change in the room's energy. The language was definitely not English and neither of us recognized it. There were multiple voices talking. Then I could hear something scurrying around the room and something was moved or bumped. It sounded like it was getting closer to me and I opened my eyes. There in front of me, by the nightstand, was a small dark mass with a vibrantly glowing aura around it. My intuition told me to close my eyes and as I did I heard a voice close to me. It didn't sound too happy, as they probably didn't want to be seen. Oops...

Outside the birds started chirping, despite almost never hearing them chirp at that hour. Once the chirping stopped, it was clear that the change in energy was gone. In the morning some of the items on my nightstand looked as though they had been moved. Not from someone picking them up though, but from someone bumping into it.

If anyone has had a similar experience, please let me know. I'm trying to figure out exactly what happened and who may have visited.

P.S. I'm a little worried that I upset them by looking at them so they started grumbling. Or maybe they were embarrassed that someone saw them run into the nightstand and started cursing. Either way, if anyone has suggestions about making sure I didn't upset them, it would be appreciated. I would like them to come back and accept future offerings.

Music & voices & glowing - oh my plus scurrying & bumping --- no cat I presume? Wait & see how it plays out. Leave regular offerings, talk to them & let them be.

I can't say I've had a similar experience but know when one in particular is around when my garage sidedoor opens as i approach with my hands full & then it shuts on my backside. I've only seen 2-3 feet tall types & some shape shifting bark on a tree that I'm sure were Fae.

Thanks for your reply and advice. I will continue to leave offerings, wait, and hope they return.

We have 3 cats, however, none of them were in the room and the door was closed. Whoever was talking and moving around was definitely in the room. I've never experienced activity like this before. I was honestly questioning if it was a dream until my husband told me he experienced the activity as well.

Good folk who open doors when your hands are full sounds nice and the shape-shifting bark is interesting. I've always heard conflicting stories about living with the fae, but it seems like the ones that live by you are more friendly.

wow what exciting events! keep us informed, your experience is very interesting. I think only to a few people fairies come in contact so fast and spectacularly

It was really exciting and we hope it'll happen again. Unfortunately, it'll probably be a while before they come back. The things that likely attracted them the first time, have changed. For instance, our landlord ripped up the garden so almost all the greenery and flowers are gone. We'll continue to put out offerings and wait to see what happens.
