Hi, I've never posted before, though I've lurked for a long time.
I have a situation in my life right now and I feel like the cards might be reflecting my fears about it, not necessarily giving me an accurate picture of what I'm actually facing.
Does anyone have insight into how to tell the difference or how to get an accurate reading?

Re: How to tell if a reading is reflecting fears
We all have fears. It is not uncommon for a reading about yourself to reflect that fact.
Setting up the proper environment with incense, candles, appeasements to your gods/spirits/ancestors, time of day/night, planetary alignment, day of the week, time of the month, season of the year, and location, are all things to consider to improve or ensure accuracy. But the most important aspect is the person reading the cards. A good card reader can give an accurate reading in almost any environment with minimal preparations.

Re: How to tell if a reading is reflecting fears
Unfortunately, given my home situation, the vast majority of what I do takes place in my head. My deck of tarot cards is the only physical thing I own that's not mundane.
I used to be able to find time alone to use candles and incense and get into a good space but Covid has eliminated those opportunities.
I'm hoping that what I'm getting is just a reflexion. I've been on an emotional roller coaster four the last couple of weeks and I feel like it's messing with everything.

You might want someone else to do the reading for you.

Nevermoon has a point, sometimes we can't be objective or we see the worst in a reading done for the self.
She (NeverMoonAWerewolf) does readings, perhaps she would do you a reading?

That would be very helpful and much appreciated. I'm definitely struggling to be objective.
