Where to start?
Where to start?
Witchcraft, compared to other things in life has many roots and history is different. Where can I find accurate historical development of magik and witchcraft? What books, what documentaries?

Re: Where to start?
I'm reading the Encyclopedia of 5,000 Spells: The Ultimate Reference Book for the Magical Arts right now , it's talking about Magick . Most of the time I buy a book because I've already got the free ebook and looked at it . I thought I would be interested in the history part , but I found my self rolling my eyes and skipping it , kind of like the same way I can't really stand to watch witchcraft shows that are set in the past like Salem . I'm much happier watching something in the now like chilling adventures of sabrina , the secret circle, charmed , etc.
I'm really getting into the actual work and action of practicing Magick and I'm not as interested in the history as I thought I would be .
I download all the books I can find about witchcraft and then I buy the ones I like .
You would have to sort through a bunch of stuff to find what you're looking for , sorry I couldn't be more help about your question , but you can find books at https://annas-archive.org/ and https://pdfroom.com/

You might be interested in "The Book of English Magic" by Philip Carr-Gomm and Richard Heygate. Simply put, it's about the history of magic.
