Love spell gone wrong?

I did a love spell on someone in my class but soon after they seemed a lot more interested in my friend than me. They started inviting them out. They seem to want to talk to and hang out with my friend. Did I do this? Did I do something wrong?

While I certainly cannot speak for everyone on this forum, I do have a strong suspicion that most of the people here will agree that love spells often have a funny way of backfiring. I personally would advise anyone to stay away from them.
