Since we're throwing our two cents at "dead" threads, here's mine: I don't mind reading some of the older threads because there are things I may have otherwise overlooked. I've learned to double check the date the thread was created before responding in certain cases. For example, if someone is asking for advice, answering 4 years later when that member is no longer active on the forum, isn't going to help them. Responding to old threads will "bump" them and that will likely attract people looking for quick answers that don't want to wade through dozens of old threads and posts.
But, like I said, my two cents. Party on friends.

Basically prevents oversaturation of threads over the same topics. I cannot tell you how many "love" or "protection" spell threads there are on the forum.

I know what you mean haha.. That's why when someone asks for something along those lines, I post the link to the main warning thread that was put up about it.

Maybe we should get together and send this to the suggestion box. I was just grouching about this sort of thing to my boyfriend the other day. I don't mind helping people, but if the answers are already on here, why over-saturate the threads?
