favorite food for a sabbat?

Postby JackRabbitSlims » Tue Mar 17, 2009 11:54 am

I absolutly love cooking. I'm actually going to college to get a degree in culinary arts :)

So I wanted to know who else likes to cook, and also what your favorite food for certain sabbats are.

Like I'm making a green curry for Ostara :)

Here's its recipe. Its actually amazzzzing but spicy so watch out! :D

Items needed:

-1 can of coconut milk
-1 jar of green curry paste
-2 chicken breasts, skinless and boneless
-Peas
-Carrots (cut however you want)
-fresh thai basil.

Instructions:

Start by cutting up veggies into small pieces. Add them to a pan of cold water and then bring them to a boil. Simmer for about 15 minutes till tender.

Cut chicken up into bite size pieces. Cook in a large wok (Deep dish frying pan) until white.

(Remeber not to use to much oil or butter because it will not mix with the coconut milk, and you don't want an oily curry!)

Then pour one can of coconut milk onto the chicken and let it simmer on a medium/low heat for about 5 mins.

Then add one Tablespoon of green curry paste. Mix really well. The curry paste gives it that indian kick so make sure you taste it before adding more.

Let simmer for a few minutes. Add the veggies you boiled, and the fresh thai basil.

Simmer on low heat for ten minutes, then enjoy with a large bowl of rice!

:D

I'm really interested in learning new dishes and kitchen magick so any input would be wonderful!

Bright blessing!
-Tea

Lol of course 1 table spoon of curry paste.

I'm no baby when it comes to spice. :)

Don't you like your curry to clear your sinuses?

There are a few things that have become traditions for me to eat on sabbats. We always have a turkey, with stuffing, potatoes, carrots, various garden veggies and pumpkin cheesecake (basically an all our feast) for Autumn Equinox. We tend to make homemade egg nog for Ostara, death by chocolate for Samhain, Herby garlic bread for Lughnasadh, Something citrus for summer solstice. Others tend to vary a lot from year to year.

Brightest Blessings
