Compulsions

I understand that Wicca is primarily a decentralized and non-compulsory religion, save for maybe the rede and three-fold rule. However, what do you do when faced with a compulsion? For example, feeling drawn to a specific implement or tool, or to do something? An example might be me, for the past few days, feeling compelled to go outside about 11pm, stand in the moonlight, breath in the brisk cool air and feel the earth, grass and dew between my toes and under my feet. I usually use this as a time of reflection before letting past events go, taking with me only lessons learned.

Yes, calling is more accurate I believe.

3 fold and rede isn't a requirement for Wicca. "Rede" means "advice" and we can do harm. We're not all love and light", if we were there would be no Wiccans in the military or on the police force. (This includes magickally.)

If you're drawn to something in the occult sense you should go for it.

Are you sure it isn't intuition or desire - impulse - opposed to compulsion (which usually has negative implication of being forced to do something / having an urge that overpowers your will).

Instinctive magical practice is driven by intuition.
