Cloud work?
Cloud work?
Ok so this could just have been my imagination or pure luck, but I had an experience the other day where I was relaxing on the grass and looking up at the clouds. At first the clouds stayed as they are and I just watched them drift by, but then the clouds started to merge becoming one big cloud, and when I willed the clouds to part in certain places, they seemed to react and part exactly the way I was thinking. Each time I tried to part the clouds I refocused my eyes and looked properly and the lines were really clear of where I wanted them to part. I kept doing this about 7 times before trying to relax my eyes and do it again started to feel forced and harder to do before I stopped entirely. Was I just lucky? Is that an ability I could work on and what for? What kind of work would it be considering, water? Air? Wind? All of them? I'm mostly just curious and if I can do something with it id like to as it doesn't require someone else to practice off

Re: Cloud work?
It's a real thing and a fun practice. It gets us familiar with the consciousness state we use for magical work. It's exercising the will in real-time.
I suppose I'd call it Air.

Thank glad I wasn't just having either a momentary lapse of sanity

Cool Ashrend! I believe it is a form of weather magic. We do a similar thing when out at the hill when rain is threatening. On more than one occasion we have been able to keep the down pour at bay until we are done with our rite. Dispersing clouds seems to be easier then bringing them together, wonder why.

Re: Cloud work?
I think it's an aspect of working with air. I had to learn how not to call up major windstorms when I'm overly stressed. I used to accidentally do that. Nobody ever got hurt, that I know of, but it was inconvenient. Emotionally, I felt like I was at the center of a vortex of power. All my frustrations were were flying out into the wind.

Hhmm il defo be looking into this then I could defo do with an emotional outlet but obviously without causing storms lol. Its interesting that it's a development for working with air, naturally I work with fire and earth so will be worth seeing how far this goes

Re: Cloud work?
I was once out with my (at the time) newborn niece and the rain was just starting to come pouring down, so I said a quick invocation to Thor and asked him to keep it off long enough to get her home and in the house, and in return I would go back out I to the storm and do an offering in thanks. I felt this enormous pressure and the rain just stopped. I get home, I just barely had her stroller in the door when I hear a window rattling crash of thunder and it comes flooding down... so, I went back out with a chunk of goat, cast a circle and gave it to him in thanks.

Re: Cloud work?
I fly a lot and when VFR (visual flight rules) and facing potential cloud formation blocking my track I usually am able to open a break in the cloud bank for legal passage without requesting IFR (instrument flight rule) transition or having to change flight plan altitude or divert to an alternative destination. Playing with cloud manipulation over the years since childhood has become a useful tool. Avgas is running $4.00 a gal and time in the sky is pricy. My Cessna 182 holds 92 gal which is good for ~900 miles so one hopes to fly direct and not circumnavigating clouds.
