Altar Ideas

Hello all. Soon I will be building my Alter inside and wanted a little insight from those more versed than myself. I am planning to place my statue of a green and blue dragon above a crystal ball in the back center, elemental candles in corresponding directions, pestle and mortar which I still need to purchase a new one, a few items of the Fae considering I have chosen to embrace them in my life and practice and lastly a statue of pan that I have had my eye on at a local shop for quite some time. Any thoughts or ideas?

Have you given some thought to where you will place the altar? How you will cleanse and consecrate it, how much space you will have for working? Stuff is fun, costly and subject to frequent change. How you decorate is entirely up to you as a personal expression. If dragons and fae speak to your inner spirit, go for it and enjoy it. Just know what it means to your path and who and what these beings are, and have a plan for working with 'em at this fabulous new well-of-offerings. Speaking of offerings, you might add something dedicated for that.

An altar can reflect the connection we wish to make and express honoring the forces we want to work with. This is the type of altar you have described. Ye gods! You are fortunate to have a whole room to dance with the Fae. That should be fun.

Placement of items controls the flow of energy. Energy moves from (-) to (+) polarity in nature and across an altar which is the Earth in miniature. Cleansing items can be left of center if you want energy cleansed first.

Offerings and the work-in-progress can be centered where energy is concentrated.

I've been glancing around at some ideas on Pinterest. There are actually many Wicca categories on there to go through .

I'm planning to go tomorrow and see about getting a giant tree ring for my alter table top. Then I will be able to build it the way I want to and as natural as possible.
