The simplest ancestral altar

My grandmother passed a few years ago. Sometimes, I like to arrange this simple altar and find peace therein. All you'll need is a photograph of your loved one(s), a glass of water, a candle. Arrange your altar and things, place water before the photos, light your candle. Say your peace and feel happy for they smile on you! Clean up. Leave the candles to burn down. Have some of the water to drink and pour the rest outside. It is done.

I've done this quite a few times with the exception of water. Thank you for that suggestion.
Before I moved last year I had a space set up in my son's memory. I just got some of his things back from my mom's house so I plan to set something up soon.

I just did this today and it deeply moved me, so I'd thought I'd share! I'm a water sign so simply the presence of it in a glass helps unlock my emotions and lets them really flow! The cornerstones of a good rite, in my eyes!

This is beautiful. I have had more than my share of loss over the last few years, and I will be trying this. Thank you for sharing.

I am also a water sign (with a huge draw to it for many reasons)... I totally understand the connection.

My son, as well as my other 2 kids (girls) are all 3 Pisces so I'm drawn more to water than my own element (Taurus so I'm an Earth sign). I have always loved water long before they were even born though.

Wow that's a lot of water in one family pink! Both my mom and bf are pisces, so I know how that can be!

It certainly makes for an interesting dynamic lol, especially since my stepsons are Aries & Taurus and bf is a Libra.
It's no wonder I have anxiety issues.
