I'm interested in learning to read Tarot cards. I'm seeing there are so many kinds out there to chose from. Plus, I've seen there are vintage cards out there too. They are cool but I wonder about the previous user's energies. Are there more differences between decks than just artwork? I'd love some advice before making a purchase. Thank you.

As long as you consecrate and charge the deck, this shouldn't be a problem.

If they're Tarot decks and not oracle/wisdom/angel cards, then not really, no.

Yes. Oracle/wisdom/angel cards don't typically have the standard 78 cards in their decks. They usually function differently depending on who made them and the purpose which they were made for.

Thank you Miss Pixie! Your info came at a good time. I'm going shopping this weekend : )) This will be my first deck and I'm excited. I hope to do readings in the near future for people. I saw a free online class for Tarot online at MagikaSchool. I'm thinking about taking that with the year and a day course. I'm new and the list of everything I want to buy and learn keeps growing.... and growing. Blessed Be!

Hi, did you find some cards? How is it going? It can take a while to tune in to new cards but you will develop a connection you will find things a lot easier.

I got my connection quickly. And a basic background to how the tarot works that most people don't realize:
To each card there is a spirit 'attached', for a lack of a better word. The spirits know your question as your shuffling and cutting the deck, and they align themselves based on the order of the spread you are planning to use. Kind of neat, isn't it?

Tarot cards answer anything I want them to. Oracle cards and angel cards are more about guidance. They tell you how to react to situations, etc.

Yes, but also remember that if you react the way something tells you to, then you are not reacting as yourself. In order to live, we must first be born, and in order to be born, we must mentally die and gain new thought.
