Does this spell seem alright?

Postby Pippen » Tue Aug 09, 2011 6:12 am

I crafted my first 'bath spell' and Im wondering if it seems ok. Ive never done this before but I researched herbs and asked my roomate (who I found out IS a witch) to give me some advice... and I kinda also followed my instincts. Originally it was just going to be a bath powder thing, but I kinda got inspired out of nowhere to make a wax thing that will slowly release effects. So, I followed my instincts, which I hear witches are supposed to do. ^^

I already tried it, and I do feel nice after the bath... It occurs to me that peppermint is a very nice thing to bathe in... Fragrant, pleasant, and a good headache reliever. (going in my budding book of shadows =p)
Bath spell

Light a white candle and cast a circle.
Pour a tablespoon each of Thyme, Basil, and Cinnamon into a container and mix up, concentrating on the effects of each herb as you add them. Say the effects. Thyme for others forming a good opinion of you, Basil for money, and Cinnamon for Money, Prosperity, and Luck.
Next, get a piece of wax paper, and on it, place a bay leaf and a cashew, concentrating on and saying the effects of each. Bay Leaf for Money and A granted wish (a job), and Cashew for Money.
Over the leaf and cashew sprinkle a few pinches of your spice mixture, then, carefully pour hot wax over it, concentrating on binding the properties together for success in obtaining wealth and work. Pour a drop of Basil oil, Lavender oil, and Peppermint oil into the hot wax, Basil for money, and peppermint and lavender to calm your mind and to give you confidence during interviews. When the wax cools a bit, form it into a ball, then wrap in the wax paper and put in the fridge or freezer to solidify.
While the wax ball is cooling, sew together a little bag out of red or green cloth, with a green or red thread. (try for opposite colors) While sewing, concentrate on what you want, as well as self confidence. Then, take out your wax ball and place it in the bag, and sew it shut.

Every morning, before going out to apply for jobs, bathe in a pinch of the spice mixture, along with your little bag with the wax ball. Also add a few drops of peppermint, basil, and lavender to the bath. The wax will slowly melt during each bath. By the time it completely disintegrates, hopefully you have a job!
This is exactly what I did, though I found it a bit hard to concentrate while sewing the cloth... I stink at sewing and it was hard to think confidant thoughts while pricking myself and tangling my thread. x.x And during the bath I also concentrated on the power of the materials used and on confidence... and relaxation, since I stress a bit too much during interviews, I think.

I didnt have any fancy supplies or anything, but I believe that a witch doesnt need ritualistic items as long as she can concentrate well enough without them. (And Wax paper is all I can afford for now, no fancy alters or platters or cauldrons... I doubt they would improve my concentration anyways, I might just be more distracted by the shinies...)

Anyways, what do you think? (And should I have posted this in spell critiques? Im not 'advanced' in spellmaking by any means whatsoever, so I wasnt sure if I was allowed. =/ Someone can move it if its wrong.)

Hiya :) this sounds fine to me if a little messy. I'm not sure I'd go in for all the melting wax (its a right pain to get out of the carpet even with an iron and brown paper!). The important thing here is that you 'feel' it, your following instincts and going with what you have to hand, thats brilliant and important.

I do a similar bath for cleansing of negativity but I make my own bath salts using Epsom Salts (don't use them if your diabetic). You create a herb mix, mix together with the epsom salts and place in a decanter. I use a cup per bath and when the decanter is empty my spell is fully worked. I normally get three bathes out of a decanter's worth. I really feel restored and refreshed aftewards too. You can tie the herb mix together in cheap muslin squares and tie with an elastic band.

:)
My soul is awakened, my spirit is soaring. And carried aloft on the wings of the breeze. For above and around me the wild wind is roaring. Arousing to rapture the earth and the seas.

i think you did a great job. i think it might be easier to omitt the wax all together and pre make the baggies ahead of time. you could seal the herbs and oils in the bags kinda like tea bags and just use them like tea bags in the bath before hand. GOOD JOB!

That was my original intention, and Ill probably do that in the future. I just had an urge to make a wax ball this time for some reason. ^^;
My hair smells pepperminty still. x3 Ill probably continue to add drops of peppermint oil to my bath even when I finish this spell.

you have given me an idea actually with the wax and oils. I am contemplating doing a parafin wax facial/spell. Using oils associated with the goal and adding them to the wax and giving myself a parafin facial before a job interview.
