I can't Believe I'm Admitting to This

Postby [Guardian Wolf] » Mon Jan 04, 2010 10:49 am

There was this girl that I really, really liked. Her and I had a really bad falling out. Sometimes it crosses my mind, but I dream about her constantly. I don't know why this is, and I want it to stop. One of my friend's who is studying psychology is telling me that my subconcious still wants her even thou my concious doesn't.

I'd have to agree with your friend there, but it can also mean many other things as well. No one interprets their dreams exactly the same, so only you will be able to decipher it in the long run... however I can try to give you a few ideas to help you start.
-Your subconcious wants you to like her, or does without your concious half knowing. (Like your friend said.)
-You feel bad about your falling out and maybe your subconcious is telling you to fix it.
-Depending on the setting and plot (if any) maybe your dreams are telling you that she wants to get past the falling out. Appearing in others' dreams isn't an exact science obviously, but I personally believe it's possible. You're entitled to your own opinion.

To give you more detailed thoughts I'd have to know more about the dreams, but like I said before, I can't truthfully interpret your dreams for you. I can only try. I hope some of this helps.

Hi Guardian Wolf,

Sorry to hear that your dreaming mind isn't letting you get over this girl you care(d) for and the relationship you two shared. There is a reason... but unfortunately, only you can figure that out.

In addition to what your friend and BlackTeddyBear suggested, I have another thought to offer: you said you cared a great deal for this girl in your waking life, but something happened to the relationship/pending relationship that brought it to it's end. Have you taken the time to properly mourn the loss of the relationship and feelings you had? I know that sounds a bit silly, but there really is merit to the concept of mourning an ended relationship when there are feelings involved. If you suppress your feelings of sadness/grief over the lost relationship and deny them, (you mentioned that she comes to mind from time to time), what you're doing is actually creating a place in your mind where the feelings can remain-- (instead of being processed and healed) and I think that's why you are dreaming of her. I don't think you've taken the appropriate amount of time needed to let yourself feel sad and miss this person's presence and influence in your waking life. You need to immerse yourself in your emotions, get them all out and faced with, head-on. In allowing yourself to heal and mourn the loss, you should find shortly thereafter that you are no longer dreaming of her. Once you've fully acknowledged the feelings in your waking state, there shouldn't be any need to continue stringing the feelings along (in your dream state).

Hope that helps!

I would have to agree there. To me a recurring dream has a meaning. In this case i would say that there is some issue that you havent overcome, or dealt with yet, something you dont understand about her, the relationship, or the way it ended. You need to uncover what that is and think it through to resolve it.

Only you can identify what the cause is, and act upon it. but think hard, and look inside and you'll see it and once you do you'll likely find that the dreams go away, almost instantly as your brain no longer needs to think on it while you sleep. It has resolved everything.

This is something that is very common. A relationship makes a very big impression on your consciousness. When people sleep, their dreams can be a way of clearing or sorting out what goes on in day to day, lucid life. If you think it is something more, especially if this is recurring, extremely vivid (full color) dream, I suggest that you try to wake up after it, and write it down. It really does sound like this relationship has made an impression on you, and your mind is still working through different scenarios.

Good luck, and may you find peace and happiness.

I would agree that only you Guardian Wolf, can determine what this *truly* means. One suggestion though: Have you thought about it if she could be partly causing your dreams? It's possible that she thinks of you too, and this energy is out there in the universe, finding its way to you.

If this is a part of it, and assuming you are respectfully denying those feelings, I would suggest picturing the two of you quietly and peacefully walking down separate paths...headed in different directions, yet at peace about it.

Good luck!
