Lots of Divination spells
Dream spells
Protection

Hexes & Curses (uhm, fake ones or whatev cuz I don't want anyone to actually get a wild hair up their butt and be like *hmmm I'll try this* and get hurt by it!)
Counter curses
Cleansing
Meditation techniques
Ect.,
Recipe's for potions or even just food!
Anything anyone wants to add!!!!!

There is nothing wrong with reading the spells created by others. It helps sometimes to for ideas/concepts.
But for any spell to work you need an emotional connection with the words. They need to be born of your soul and bear your desire.
Without that, your just reciting poetry.
A spell does not need to rhyme. Rhymes were created for coven work so the group could all be chanting the thing and it makes it easier to remember.

My opinion is my own. I am willing to share it, though you are not required to accept it.

Er. Why not grab a book and use the ones in there as an example... Or make up your own magical system for use in your books? If you're writing it, and you're serious, then you've already done all the research you need to put something together.
Am I the only one who thinks that way? -_-;;;

Further, the lowest Rung in Hell is reserved for them that believe in it on the supposition that they'll go there if they don't.

It's a fiction novel, not a compilation of things, just so everyone knows. I've done quite a bit of research, but not enough to make up my own magickal system or whatever. I'm not even sure how to go about writing a spell. Like I've said, i don't practice Witchcraft, just have an intense love for it and had a wonderful idea for a book!

Here's the thing... You're writing a book. Great, it's fiction. Awesome! I hope it works out very well for you. I'm writing one too, so I understand some of your frustrations; Mine is a little more flexible, though, being high fantasy.
But here's the deals- All of them, as I see them.
1) Spells are easy to come by, and won't take much tweaking to be not considered plagiarism. If you want to use them wholesale, then give credit in the back, and put in the forward that you've used real spells from so-and-so's work. You might even want to ask their permission to use it, if you find something you really like.
2) Only YOU are going to know exactly what you need, which means that we can offer you a million spells, and never offer you the one you think you need.
3)If you are writing a book, then you are likely writing to be published. While I don't care if I've posted a spell and you use it (with permission and credit given), the simple fact of the matter is, -you- would be making money off of -my- efforts. At best, that is a thing that would mildly irritate me. On a bad day, I could easily get myself banned for what I'd have to say about it. The point? Unless I see somehting in writing that says I get x percent of the profits off your book, I'm not terribly inclined to want to do any work for you- Sorry, but that's just how I roll.
I just can't put out knowing that I'm being taken advantage of like that. It doesn't fly.
Now. -I- could have gone to a bunch of ceremonial magicians and chaos magicians and said "Hey, I want to learn about this stuff you're doing so I can incorporate it into my book. Want to do a whole bunch of work for me and not get paid for it?". But I didn't. As I said, my preferred method is a little looser- so I made up my own system that works very well in my books, based off of what I learned all on my own. The Internet is an invaluable resource for that. And since I warped everything I learned almost beyond recognition, I happily do not have to give credit unless I want to, as there's no way it could be called plagiarism.
Besides, I think said magicians would have told me where they thought I should go, if I asked such a question, and they'd have had every right to tell me so.
