Besides collecting spells, get a list of magical uses for colors. Make a table of correspondences...study the goddess/gods you want to work with.
Format like this:
Color/Astrological sign/planet/goddess (god) name/intents/stone/herb/metal/scent
or in the order makes sense to you.
For example:
Orange/Taurus/Earth/Gaea/wealth, prosperity/*/*/gold/Sandalwood
I left some blank, but you get the idea. A gold coin on the alter, orange candle, working with Earth as an element for this spell...is easy to figure out a ritual for wealth.
Then you could have:
Orange/Leo/Sun/Apollo/harmony, success, healing stomach cramps/*/*/*/*
Takes a lot of study, but when you need to formulate your own spell...

Honestly, your BOS is your own... Everyone keeps theirs in different manners. Personally, I tend to be a little OCD about mind. It's starting to look more like an encyclopedia then a traditional BOS. Others just keep the bare minimum. Like I said, it's all about what works for you. No one can tell you the "right" way to do it.

I just put whatever I find interesting, new information I have learned, anything I want to remember and may need to refer back to sometime. Spells I have found, people have given me or I have created myself or written for others.
I also keep track of the spells I use and how the outcome is.
Enjoy creating.

That's the format I've been using for almost a year now. It seems to work very well. I end up writing each item down several times and in several sets of charts and graphs for easy access no matter what I'm looking it up for.Color/Astrological sign/planet/goddess (god) name/intents/stone/herb/metal/scent
I think this is a GREAT format; and one that I will adopt into my own. Thank you!Besides collecting spells, get a list of magical uses for colors. Make a table of correspondences...study the goddess/gods you want to work with.
