Cold and flus

Postby Hera#76 » Sun Sep 24, 2006 6:30 am

Can anyone recommend some herbs to mix and carry in a pouch which will help with the cold/flu. I have got it again!

Also if anyone has any suggestions on how to ward it off for the future I would be deeply grateful, I work in a school so I am always picking up the pesky bug from the kids.

No...I've never known a bag of herbs to stop you catching anything. It didn't work for the bubonic plague, so I doubt it'll work for the flu. My only tips are, try and avoid sick people, eat lots of garlic, both raw and cooked, fresh oranges/ornage juice, onion too and chilli...gargle with warm salty water (if you do come down with it) and drink lots of fluid.

My faivorite thing to have when I have a cold is a cup of bullion (or you could use cup soup) with a couple of cloves of garlic chopped up inside it. Garlic really is a great thing for your health. Also echinacia can reduce the length of a cold and increase immunity. Though you shouldn't take it long term as it won't work any more. Hope that helps!
