I have searched the site and cannot find a thread on candles. Does anyone have an idea of where I could find the thread? Thanks!

Basic candle spell
Select a candle of the size that gives the desired burn-time - tea lights, tapers & votives are all popular. One spell per candle is preferred & a candle should be allowed to burn completely. It’s OK to snuff a flame and relight at a later time and if timed burns run over a few days on the same candle. Dispose of candle stubs in the trash.
Dressing the candle: Etch signs, names, dates before applying oil. Then dab & spread oil along the taper candle or
dab :-: on top of a tea light or votive. The oil holds the energy of the intention to the candle. Stand the candle in it's holder & place your hands around it or hold it in your hands; pull power on the breath from earth & sky to your belly; then focus on the goal, exhale to push the focused intent into the candle & state intention or repeat your incantation. If you add herbs or any stones they should be similarly charged & placed with the candle. Light the wick.
The spell: Sit quietly while focussing your gaze on the flame for a few minutes until you are aware only of the flame; know in your gut that the spell is already fulfilled upon the Ethers. This is the heart of the spell & uses the witch-power "to know" a thing is so. (Knowing is like a hunch). You don't need to visualize when you know.

Re: Candle Colors
(I posted this else where but this seemed more pertinent to the topic)
I would like to share an insight I had where the colors in the circle are concerned. There are a basic 6 colors in the color wheel and when you add white and black you have a base color for each holiday.
Starting in the Midwinter and the direction of North,
North is Black: the Winter Solstice/Yule, time of the longest and darkest night, rest and deep reflections.
N-E is White: Imbolc, time of the bride and purity, initiations.
East is Red: Vernal Equinox/Ostara, time of life renewal, the dawn of the day.
S-E is Orange: Bealtaine, time of creativity, ringing in the summer.
South is Yellow: Summer Solstice/Litha, time of longest and brightest light, greatest energy shining through solar plexus.
S-W is Green: Lughnasadh, time of the green man, fulfilment, leisure and greenwood marriages.
West is Blue: Autumnal Equinox/ Mabon, time of turning within, searching the inner waters of the self.
N-W is Purple: Samhain, time of death, highest insight, spiritual epiphanies.

Re: Candle Colors
On brown candles: They can also pertain to (an) animal/s. It seems like that property is mentioned about half the time when brown candles are included in a list of colors, but that's the one that inspires me to have a few in my stash! >^..^<

Re: Candle Colors
I had a St Francis of Assisi vigil candle that was brown and Ive wondered why? Boiiing. You just explained it. He is known for his preaching to wildlife. AhHA! Thank you.

Re: Candle Colors
Soitenly!
And thank you for your list up top there. I've never seen >1 color indicated for a specific property, and love that kind of versatility. That's how we roll, right?
