How to convert/become wicca?

Postby kana- » Mon Jan 29, 2018 2:34 pm

Recently I have become infatuated with wiccanism and the occult. I have been interested before but never really looked into it. I am wondering on ways to become/convert to the wicca religion. Any advice?

Read the Wiccan Reed, long form & Charge of the Goddess as guidelines. Wicca is a pagan nature religion that acknowledges a goddess & a god who represent nature‘s duality & uses magical practices. Make sure you're OK with that. :)

There is no over-seeing authority of witchcraft & mythology is read. A custom, if you want to follow it, is to study a year-and-a-day, reading, observing Nature & developing your relationship. The cycle of the annual holidays are expressions of nature (Samhain, Imbolc, Beltane & Lughnasa). Practice grounding & centering your energy, focusing and projecting energy 🙌🏽. There are a few ways to cast circle so find one you like so you’ll use it. Start a study of the magical elements earth, water, air & fire by observIng them in nature. Involve your senses to gently experience each. Use your intuition to converse with the spiritus loci, spirit of a place, at a favorite outdoor location. Build a starter kit with a few 🕯candles,🍸water,🧂salt & olive oil for consecrating Your sacred space. Tips for all of these are here & there within the EUTM topics. Browse & enjoy.

If you decide it's relevant after a year then do a self-dedication which is basically ritual purification & an oath to take on the mindset & practices of a path. A dedication opens a Dedicant to the earth frequency & sets their intent on the Path of their choosing.

Scott Cunningham's "Wicca for the Solitary Practitioner" is available as a free pdf. Thea Sabin’s “Beginner Wicca, Principles and Practices” is available in paperback. In the 1st year there's no special reason to collect ritual tools. IMO It's better to wait until you know what ritual tools are used for & to find or make what feels like part of you.

Ask all the questions you want. Some body or 2-3 will reply. :)

There is no over-seeing authority of witchcraft & never can be.

The mentioned one-year custom only applies to Wicca, witches can follow a separate path. Lots of speculation on blood witches, meaning born-as-a-witch. If blood witch is on both sides of the family. is the offspring a diploid blood witch?

An important point to consider about magic: some people did not want it, did not ask for it, and did not seek it.

Along side the spiritual teachings and magic, it may also prove helpful and enjoyable to learn the history of the cunning men and women of the past, and from several cultures. Often seeing how they fit into society offers relevance and view of responsibility. It will shed light on the importance of such things as herbology, divination, animal care, nature stewardship, ethics, etc. It is always good to know where we come from, it shapes where we are going.

One year and a day.

Maintain your curiosity and ask questions and learn about the people.

And in one year and a day, you'll be cunning yourself.
