Help to lift a curse...?

Hello fellow witches, once again I will need your help, one friend of mine, told me she has been cursed, at first I didn't believe her because, we all tend to overreact to simple bad luck, but she has terrible luck and also...she found some kind of black colored gravel in her doorstep and also small lemons (really small-green color, a sign that they weren't even matured).
Anyway, can anyone identify what this curse is and maybe help me to lift it?

The person who did this to her, is her ex-mother-in-law, she actively uses magick, it's not just a hunch.

Sounds interesting! I'm sure others have different ideas, but I'd move all the dirt and lemons into a crossroad, or throw them into a river that flows away from your home.

Next, I would clean and protect the house from top to bottom.

Then I would clean and protect the person from top to bottom.

It would also be a good idea to find out why they have a disagreement -- either by directly asking or by scrying or divination methods -- and try to correct it.

Black gravel and lemons...
I'm no expert. Not even close. But to me, that sounds a bit like goofer dust. African-American Hoodoo stuff.
But, a total cleanse of the place would be a fantastic way to start. Also, scattering salt and banishing oil in each room and around the house is a good cleanse. I haven't tried this, so I can't vouch for it personally, but it seems legit.

I'm not sure if a return-to-sender would be a good choice, it may make the situation worse.

That's horrible. I don't understand people who go out of their way to harm/hurt others. It's not being very responsible with your beliefs & gifts.

The "small green lemons" could be key-limes. Granted it's been a while since thinking much on key-limes, but what I remember is they are great for many positive things if used for positive.

Yet, if used for negative effects, I believe, I remember effects of visual sensitivity, mental disorientation, disruption of positive energy, & forced paranoia... That's all I can remember on keylimes though. Assuming that's what they are. Not sure if it is just tiny ungrown lemons. =(

Hopefully a good cleansing & maybe some energy restoration & protection would be able to help your friend.

This reminds me of a spell from Aradia, where you pincushion a lemon with needles. bright colorful needles for a gift-black needles for a curse. It stands to reason the mother in law might have removed the needles after the spell was done to hide the nature of said lemons.
For the black pebbles i can't say for sure but a friend of mine had something similar happen to him and it was something a gypsy had done.

I am a firm believer in dousing the artifacts in salt water, then lighter fluid and burning them to ash, the scattering the ashes on a swift moving stream flowing away from my house... but I'm the kind of guy who would nuke a mosquito... Captain Overkill here
