Re: up /\ away from you, down\/ towards you...doesn't matter which cardinal direction you face. It's a flat surface.

Corvidus, what if you were in the southern hemisphere? :) just teasing. Don't let's split hairs and confuse everyone. :mrgreen:

See my former coven mate had a unique solution to the up and down thing... on the back wall of his altar room (yes he had a full room for it) he had three sets of stands (basically oak back boards with candle holders on them) with one having three candle holders oriented so the candles form the blade /\ one with three to make the chalice \/ and one to make both (he used gold candles for the blade and silver for chalice)
