Hi guys and gals,
Other than this site:
http://moonganizer.blogspot.com/2011/11 ... s.html?m=1
I can't find any information using search engines about the 30 moon days and their attributes.
For example: the moon days where the 25th day is represented by the Turtle and is a day of passivity.
Does anyone have a name for this that I could input into a search engine and get more results.
I guess I just don't know the proper or common term for how to research this.
Or, better yet if anybody has some book recommendations where this is discussed please don't hesitate to reply. Even just a quick word or so.
Blessings everyone,
Freyja13.
I am thankful for such a great community that has helped me when I get stuck in my pursuit of the old ways. Happy Thanksgiving!
Looking for books on the 30 Moon Days
Re: Looking for books on the 30 Moon Days
I think you'll have much better luck by searching for the 28 Lunar Mansions:
Lunar Mansions
This is the more common expression of what you're thining of, I think
Western astrology doesn't use them, because we've always used a Solar calendar. The Lunar Mansions are specific to those cultures who use a Lunar calandar (which is somewhere between 27 and 28 days).

Re: Looking for books on the 30 Moon Days
Lunar calendar is based on Moon phases. A month in such calendar usually has 28 days, just like one cycle of the moon. For example, date of Easter is calculated based on Moon. It's the first full moon after spring equinox. That's why the date of Easter is different each year. It comes from Jewish ( which comes from pagan) calendar which was lunar. What is a lunar calendar?I think you'll have much better luck by searching for the 28 Lunar Mansions:

Nowadays we use solar calendar which is based on Earth's rotation around the Sun.
Re: Looking for books on the 30 Moon Days
Thank you so much! I am very grateful for leading me in the right direction into Lunar Mansions. Thank you so much for the correct term.
Lunar Mansions:
I do have a couple more questions about what constitutes the correct understanding of these astrological systems:
1) Like you stated: 'Western thought on lunar and sun cycles consist of the fact that "the western attitude consists of the fact that it is based on the [EARTH GLOBE ASIA-AUSTRALIA] rotation around the [BLACK SUN WITH RAYS]️"--'which as I understand, is the everyday calendar most popularly used everywhere?
2) On the contrary, 'the Lunar calendar view; held mostly in the Jewish' and from what I understand Kabbalah traditions in the Middle East; holds that, instead, it is the [EARTH GLOBE ASIA-AUSTRALIA] rotation around the [CRESCENT MOON] that defines the Lunar Calendar?
3) How does this affect astrology based on what calendar you are going by? In terms of conflicting dates that certain astrological signs fall on; for example, the starting and ending date that defines one as a certain astrological sign from another?
Blessings!!
Many blessings to everyone!!

Re: Looking for books on the 30 Moon Days
No problem, Freya.
I'm not sure if I understand your question, though. I don't understand the part where you wrote about Earth globe Asia - Australia and the black sun with rays. I guess these terms come from astrology and since I don't know much about the topic I can't answer your question.
If you asked what is the most commonly used calendar today, yes, it is the solar one (one rotation of the earth around the sun divided into 365. 25 days ).
Concerning which calendar to use. You should use the calendar of the culture that made the astrology you want to practice. For example, if you want to do Chinese horoscope, you need to work according to Chinese calendar.
If you want to use Western type lunar horoscope, then you work according to current lunar phases and solstices and equinoxes.
Again, I'm sorry if I misunderstood your question.

Maybe here's a better worded question:No problem, Freya.

Even if you follow the sun based astrological systems for harvesting plants, timing spells etc...
Can you still use the Mansions on the moon that is a moon based astrological system to plan my spells etc...?

Consider it a division of degrees for timing spell work.
"Spring" spells are divideo by the Sun sign, and narrowed down even further by the position of the Moon.
For example. Spring, Aries, 3rd lunar mansion.
Spring, Aries, 26th lunar mansion.
Spring, Gemini, 10th lunar mansion.
And the like. Quite alot of variety

Re: Looking for books on the 30 Moon Days
Does Eastern astrology have the same equinoxes and solstices that Western Astrology has (meaning occurring on the same dates) that Wiccans celebrates in the N. Hemisphere? No problem, Freya.

What about the other 4 quarter festivals that are not equinoxes or solstices? Do they have practices of their own?
I just want to express how much I love this community and how much I am learning. Thank you to all of you for making a big difference in my learning of the old ways.
