How much spiritual work do you do daily
I was wondering what's members' daily routine concerning spiritual matters and witchcraft?
Do you practice every day, once a week, once a month?
Is it mainly meditation, reading or do you do spell work daily?

Re: How much spiritual work do you do daily
I do meditation every day: one in the morning,so I can connect with the Goddess before putting up the shield,so she can help me and bless it. When I get home I have a shower and thenot meditate so I can relax and recharge and before going to sleep so I can reconnect with my inner self.
Yoga and grounding also everyday but spell work on full moon or if it's really important in order to aid others or myself on something fast.

Re: How much spiritual work do you do daily
First thing in the morning I'll light a candle at my Goddess shrine, and a salt lamp. I think She's used to my groggy "g'mornings". At some point in the day, usually mornings, I'll run through my prayer beads, which always attracts cats. Their purring assists. If there are any matters of concern, they are addressed at this time. Sometimes deeper meditation results, usually not. (edit-it really only takes about 20 minutes).
Any spells are done according to appropriate moon phase, so it is as-needed, and that's not very often. I keep it low key. Full Moon's are usually quiet, energy communion, outdoors whenever weather permits. Moonlight through a window just doesn't make it. (edit-once a month is not at all difficult, and no full rituals - just a circle for a place to stand.)
And not to forget sunlight. Just taking in sunlight like breathing in air is a standard daily thing. I'm a living thing and I need sunlight. Just a couple minutes to fire up my aura. (edit-again, it only takes a few short minutes, & is not a big deal.)
During the day there are little things that are so routine it's hard to recall them. They are spiritual works as much as routine practice. For example, center and hold my position, aka shields-up in crowds, or frequency change when choosing produce at the grocers. I look for the most alive aura like the brightest sack of carrots. Standing in line at checkout, I ground and center. I do this anytime I think of it, even as I type this...since I'm reminded of it. It can't be done too often, otherwise I "drift" which isn't useful, however pleasant. When I walk past the plants in my garden we greet one another as a friendly energy give and take. I don't need to think about these things, they are so customary now. But they weren't always. I had to create the routine, gee, years ago.

Re: How much spiritual work do you do daily
That's quite alot of things you do on a daily basis, that's cool!
I think I'll start to create an energy shield when with people. Especially as I work with people at the shop, I absorb their energies easily. Usually it's energy of stress and hurry. It was so evident today. People are always in a rush on Fridays. As if they thought that weekend will come faster if they run all the time! And it affects me. I wouldn't say it makes me stressed but I start to feel as if I was running myself.
Sometimes I feel they are angry and their anger sticks on me...
And I'm very sensitive to rudeness and impoliteness and it is totally against my personality. But the terrible thing is that while I do hate these emotions in others, they reflect on me as on a mirror and then I become rude myself. I'm ashamed of that
So shielding is something I should definitely work on.

I guess that's the burden part of being an Empath. You shouldn't be ashamed,it'seems nothing you can control..yet. I'm in the same situation you are and hope that in time I'l learn how to deal with it
You could try making them only for strange people so that the ones you love won't feel that they can't connect with you.

You're right. It's probably a part of our personality. Maybe it will be good to accept it first, before trying to conquer it.
Maybe that's why my previous attempts of meditation and shielding were unsuccessful (mainly making the symptoms much worse). I didn't accept the current situation, I only wanted to get rid of it.
I'll think about what you said.

Re: How much spiritual work do you do daily
One of the regular baggers at the grocery store I shop at makes a point of smiling and telling people he's happy, it's a wonderful day, or whatever. The guy works at it, and everyone smiles at him. He greets customers and wishes them a wonderful day. It is impossible to be emotionally down in his presence.
As for time...I'm retired. Yippie! But I also read or meditated daily when working full time. I just got up 30 min early. I started by reading 20 min. in the morning, then added prayer beads. Then slid into meditation. If there wasn't time in the morning, I'd do it when I got home from work while dinner cooked. Sometimes on my lunch hour I'd go for walks, and find a bench. Even in winter. I'd snatch 15-30 minutes wherever I could. Then it became habit.

I don't do anything formal on a daily basis, but I always have my awareness open. That can be a tricky thing for empaths. I learned to channel it to a subliminal level. I can access it when I need to, but it doesn't overwhelm me.

Absolutely yes! You have my greatest respect for being able to do this. I still haven't found an efficent way to do this, after 5 or so years of meditation and the like.
From my own experience, opening awareness necessarily involves a whole onslaught of weird shit...

I think I just channeled a lot of mine into being a nurse and rescuing cats. Those are useful outlets.but I always have my awareness open. That can be a tricky thing for empaths.

Yes, that's a great idea. I try to do it when I can and I find that it really helps. It's just that I'm not able to be so positive every single day. I'll just have to work on it and think consciously about it. Maybe I'll create a simple ritual when I come to work and then have something to remind me about my dedication throughout the day? Do you think it would work? One of the regular baggers at the grocery store I shop at makes a point of smiling and telling people he's happy, it's a wonderful day, or whatever. What exactly does this mean? I'm sorry I haven't studied this topic in depth. Does it mean you are open to sensing energies, auras, etc?I don't do anything formal on a daily basis, but I always have my awareness open.

Re: How much spiritual work do you do daily
Witches please stop the spells and read this truth. All magic is fake and the illusion of EVIL spirits, your "goddess" is actually an ugly dude and your goddess would probs rather you didn't mess with magic...
:woot: Whew! So much to read!
So....basically what you are saying is: practicing magic is evil, music is evil, Internet is evil and that all the psychic abilities we have, come from the evil god and not that we develop these things with the help of our good gods?
I don't want to offend anyone; I might have not understand all this properly, but this sounds just like the preach of a christian priest. "Everything is evil, there is one good God and one bad. The evil one has more influence over you and all the activities you like make the evil God happy."
I must say I agree with the "being selfish" part but as far as I can see, people here are trying to be as altruistic as possible.
To be honest, I'm still confused about all this info! Why shouldn't we practice magic if it is done with good intentions?
Re: How much spiritual work do you do daily
We often get people who try to save us witches. Don't feed the trolls
And don't get offended by trolls.
I'll just go and do some evil now

I'll just go and do some evil now
