Book and learning resources recommendations

Postby SerafinaLammas » Fri Nov 18, 2016 2:56 pm

Hi friends [WHITE SMILING FACE]️

I am new to Wicca and over the past 6 months I have been trying to do as much research as possible. I don't want to jump straight into practicing until I understand the practice. However, all my research has left me feeling a little overwhelmed!

Does anyone have any book recommendations/websites etc that were or are useful to them?

I want to start creating my altar and have hit confusion in terms of north/east/south

How did people find their traditions?

Thanks so much in advance!

Xxx

How did people find their traditions?
I believe many of us took an interest in their roots of origin, and studyied the ways of those peoples. Others are very eclectic and draw from many different traditions and places. Do some reading and take it slow. We have many great articles and posts right here on this site.
In the meanwhile swing by the intro section and let us know a little bit about you, thanks :fairy:

There is a section on books and media with suggestions. Or use the search function for your interests. What about the directions confuses you? . Different beliefs assign different qualities to each direction, probably because geographic locations where beliefs developed are different. Mostly altars are aligned with the north pole star or east towards sunrise. Both stars are thought of as spiritual gateways. Special activities can be associated with properties of a direction.

Re paths: I'm Eclectic because I am not drawn to one path over another. I was originally curious about circle energies & experimented, & appreciate the free thinking.
