Beginner book
Beginner book
Hi, can anyone recommend a very basic, simple book start the research process? I have been very interested in beginning this process for a while now, but I don't know quite to to exactly start. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction for a very easy to read book about the basic of the religion and where to start my practice.
Re: Beginner book
I started with "Buckland's complete book of witchcraft" by Raymond Buckland. Although, "Solitary Witch" by Silver RavenWolf is also a very good start and a bit shorter.

Buckland's book is perfect for beginners. A-lot of people don't care for Silver because of her not so subtle "christian bashing", but I actually enjoyed a few of her books. I even have her Halloween book because of the recipes.

♫Lady stir your cauldron well, chant your words and sing your spell
Come and taste of the cauldron's brew and magic she will give to you♫

Oh, oops! Lol. I read some of it but after reading Buckland's book first it seemed kind of redundant so I didn't finish it. I remember it having some nice prayers or blessings in it though.

If you’re unfamiliar with the jargon take a look at “Wicca for Dummies” to get the very basic concepts.
“Wicca for Beginners” by Lisa Chamberlain and Scott Cunningham’s “Wicca, Guide for Solitary Practitioners” are both available as free pdf.

Scott Cunningham's:
-"Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner"
-"Living Wicca: A Further Guide for the Solitary Practitioner"
Are both favorites from others I've spoken to as well. I used to have the first but gave it away to a friend when she and her husband lost theirs. Anyways, hope that helps.
