Unintentional love spell?

This may be a stupid question, but is it possible to accidentally place a love spell on someone. A long time ago, when I was a young, new witch I placed a blessing spell on a relationship I currently at the time. Now years later, the same guy still claims to be completely in love with me which makes no logical sense since we dated for only a month and had no true physical nor emotional connection. Yet he still claims I'm the only one for him and won't date anyone else. Is it possible that I could have spelled him?

I think it might have to do with your intentions when you did that blessing. But I'm no expert. Just my idea.
