I need a banishing spell to ban someone from my life.

If he gets nasty about it then get a restraining order and call the police on him every time he comes around. He'll get the picture. If not then you are in real danger with the guy and really do need police involvement ASAP. You don't magic to get rid of him.

This. You need to take care of your safety by material means first, use the physical and social resources you currently have before you resort to energy work. Spells won't work if you haven't taken every other precaution available to you first.

State that you don't want to be contacted again, that you've moved on with your life. If it continues, speak to the police about obtaining a restraining order. Block his number, emails, etc.

Hi blam1040. Since your ex is such an angry little bird and could use some cooling off, energetically-speaking, here are some "freezer spell" ideas that I think would be perfect for your situation:

Find a spell that resonates with you and give it a try. Freezer spells are rather fun to do, simple (little to no magical experience necessary, really), and believe it or not, surprisingly effective. That second link, above, also has a link to a video describing a "Cut and Clear" spell, which may also be useful to your situation, though it's a little more complicated to do. These spells I've suggested are in the hoodoo tradition of spellwork, part of the larger body of American folk magic.

Finally, I suggest you do some cleansing of both your personal energy (a relaxing ritual bath is great) and of your personal space (smudging your home and car with sage, if you could stand the smell, haha, is effective for this; Dark Moon used to recommend asperging with holy water as a smokeless alternative to smudging) to clean up his residual energy in your life. Spiritual cleansing is very "psychologically" cleansing as well, liberating and even empowering. As part of the cleansing process be sure to dispose of any of his belongings you may possess, lest they serve as energetic "anchors" helping him maintain a hold on you. Get rid of it all, including gifts, save nothing.

The key is to put a lot of "intention" into it as you perform any spell or ritual, really mean it. Actually speak your intentions, out loud, as you do these workings. Tell the universe what you want. "Name it and claim it," as I've heard charismatic Christians say, lol --that's actually very good advice for anyone! And as suggested in the other posts in this thread, don't be shy about taking whatever actions you need to take in the mundane world to get this person out of your hair, as well. Do what you gotta' do. This will boost any magical efforts you make because when the mundane and the magical work hand in hand you'll get maximum effectiveness. Otherwise, if your magical intentions and physical actions are not congruent, you'll just waste a lot time.

I would have to concur with the others mentioning the potential benefit of seeking legal interjection should you simply telling him to go away is not effective. Overbearing ex's are terribly annoying to deal with, but from my experience I've found magick to be overkill. Also I'm not comfortable using magick in a way that interferes with the will of another free individual no matter how terrible they are; but the cops...yeah they are the perfect intervention between you and an overbearing ex. If he's dangerous and angry please take care of yourself in immediate physical ways. You can always worry about magickal ways once you are safe...how can you hope to focus your attention on your ritual if you are more concerned with not being stalked? Also strange energies can come out of things like banishing a person from your life...at least thats my two cents. My morals are not your morals are not anyone else's. If you feel like magick is the way to go then go for it, but also please be safe.
