Wiccan music?

Postby aphroditemoon » Thu Jun 09, 2011 12:57 pm

Hey everyone!

I really am having a hard time finding music to use during ritual, so what do all of you listen to? Any specific bands, groups, styles? I'm open to anything and would love some input. Feel free to post links! :]
You do not need to use the bible to justify love, however no greater tool has been created to justify hate.

I have something that you'll love! There's a channel on youtube called KeepMusicPagan. There HAS to be something you can use for rituals on there.

Chalice&Blade. Love their song "I Hear You Calling". Oooh and Florence+the Machine..they're not Wiccan-based but the music is sooo spiritual. The lead singer, Florence, is rumored to have practiced Wicca at some time. Who knows..maybe she still does?

I would suggest looking up some of the celtic lounge CD's or some of the stuff by Gary Stadler, some of which is in the Celtic Lounge cd's. They are generally soft and some have vocal parts but they are very unobtrusive. :D

Do not judge, Understand
Do not forget, for in this you shall learn nothing

I love doing Ritual to Loreena McKennitt, pretty much ALL of her songs are great, But I recently ran in to a band from Germany called Faun This some really good Pagan music... even if you don't understand the lyrics, their sound is a mix they call Pagan Folk. Here... I'll put in one of their songs and you can go exploring!

I posted a lot of the more popular Wiccan/Pagan videos in my Book of Shadows. Several of those can be used for ritual or meditation.

As someone said above, Florence and the Machine is nice, Blackmore's Night is REALLY great, I LOVE the Reclaiming chants and all of SJ Tucker's stuff... I also really like Lisa Dancing-Light, Sharon Knight, Sharon Knight's live album with Pandemonaeon, Elaine Silver, Kellianna, Wendy Rule, Emilie Autumn, Stellamara, Elane, Alice di Micele, Sarvah-Antah... the list goes on.

Spiral Rhythm is one of my more recent favorites. As we speak, I'm listening to "I am Pagan and I'm Proud". One of my favorite songs to do ritual to is "Dance My Children, Dance".
