Nice ALTAR! I LOVE IT!
SO COOL!

Not all scars show, not all wounds heal, you can't always see the pain someone feels.

Beautiful
Aquafeeta I think your altar looks terrific. I dont think you should worry so much about having everything on the altar. You can store things that arent used every time in other places or even underneath. Statues of the Gods are great to have but not a necessity so you are doing right by waiting till you find one that speaks to you.
The only things i consider as necessary items to have on the altar are of course the god and goddess candles, the working or altar candle, your incense, your salt, and water, and a pentacle in the center.(but even that doesnt really have to be there it just makes it seem more "official like" if you ask me
)
The things i listed above are the basic things you need when casting your circle and to start off any working from an esbat, to a sabbat, or a spell.
I like to put things on the altar as i need them dependant upon the work i have laid out for myself.

This is my very simple Yule altar. I try to build on symbology. I hope you like it

My soul is awakened, my spirit is soaring. And carried aloft on the wings of the breeze. For above and around me the wild wind is roaring. Arousing to rapture the earth and the seas.

Everyone has such beautiful altars. I don't have one yet. Although, I was using the brick fireplace in my house as one.

I don't really have an altar set up yet, but I keep most of the supplies in my hope chest.
That way I can use the top of it as a temporary altar.
When I set it up I will take a picture
