Wiccans Feeling Anything Strange Lately?

Postby dawnmarieb » Thu Dec 09, 2010 9:44 am

I didn't know where to post this question. I am new here and there are so many topics, I wasn't sure where this one would fit best, so I have posted here under questions and answers. Here goes:

Lately, some witchy friends and I have all had this strange feeling. It's hard to describe but it's a feeling of "change" (not for the better), of dread, of something feels "off" in the universe. Sometimes the feeling gets so strong I shudder. One friend of mine has been noticing people are being more bitchy than usual. Another friend has even noticed the animals being weird lately (and we're all in different states, so it's not a local thing).

I thought I would reach out to a pagan community to see if anyone else has been feeling this it all.

Thanks and nice to meet you all. :)

I had this feeling like 3 years ago, about some major changes. And I was right. Everything changed for me and my friends and family. Like everything. Really totally. I thought it would be about the world, and I was right, my friends and family are the world for my subconciouss ;)

So maybe think if it's about the whole world or just the part that effects you and your friends.

Also, even non-Wiccan are able to feel such stuff ;)

If wiccans had "felt something" then so would everybody else.

Define "animals acting weird"

Uhm.. One of my friends had her bf acting weird like having a big head, etc. his behavior hurt her she said. That's been longer than a month. So I don't know if it is something. I don't think there is much going on. It is probably just around over there. Here it isn't such a big thing. The all day round things happen just as usually, people say things to you and you just ignore them. I don't think you people don't want to know what I've heard today from a 12/13/14 year old (I did guess this age >_>, but I know they were younger than I am).

I've been feeling that way, my boyfriend (Non-Wiccan-or-Witch Pagan), and my cats. Feels like a change is occurring that no body seems to realise.

The end of an entire Era is at hand!!! Just because the Apocalypse isn't happening before your eyes doesn't mean anything at all. 2011 is the last year of "normal" time passing. 2012 is the last year of an Era that has lasted more than a thousand years. Exactly two Winter Solstices from now, it will be officially the "future" according to MANY ancient legends. Let's just see what happens...........

I just had a very unusual and startling dream last night. It might have been some kind of contact from an ancestor. Maybe the veil is thin now because I haven't had a dream like this for several years. Then I awoke directly from the dream to coyotes yipping, barking, and howling in chorus. Just sort of unusual.

I dreamed that I was in a room with some family members. However, they were fairly young and most of them were not recognizable. Every one was somber. I saw one of my aunts (one of the two that I actually visually recognized) and she had red rimmed eyes and looked like she was angry and had been crying. She died several years ago, about a year after her terminally ill son died. I got the impression that he was standing next to me, in the dream, and he was the only one who noticed I was there. I only got the impression of his name, "Albert," but I did not remember who Albert was until morning. The only person who talked was the other aunt that I recognized (she's still alive.) She kept talking to someone who I identified as a cousin, but who was much younger than my actual cousin. My aunt kept saying in a concerned and helpful way, to my cousin, "are you ready to go yet? We can wait in the car...We can go any time." Finally, I asked my cousin, "Do you live far away?" She said, "yes. It is a very long way and I have a one dollar library fine to pay when I get back." I decided that I should make them all some dinner, (I thought that I was at my Dad's house, though it looked nothing like it, and he wasn't there.) When I went in the kitchen, I noticed that there was blood on the refrigerator door. I thought about how someone had been cutting meat in there because it was old blood. I picked up a paper towel to wipe the blood off, but it turned into the end piece of a loaf of bread. I mopped it up. Then I mopped the blood off around the calender. Then I mopped some spots on the floor. Then I mopped some off of the counter. Then I went back to the refrigerator and the blood was fresh again, so I mopped it up again but it just smeared. Then I woke up because the coyotes were so loud.
It may not seem that special of a dream. But really, it is for me. It would be normal for me to dream that my boyfriend turned into a zombie and I tried to kick his head in. It would be normal to dream about the toy Elmo turning into a giant, blobby, green alien. But when I have dreams like the one I had last night, I listen. It is also interesting because I talked to a psychic around two months ago, who claims he can contact the dead, and he brought up the living aunt in the dream. I talked to my Mom about the dream, and she had all kinds of ideas about how people I described sounded like various relatives who died young of Russian roulette, or of heroine overdose, or of AIDS. That side of the family has had a very rough past. So, this dream suggests to me that I was contacted by an ancestor or some familial soul. My grandfather on that side of the family was Native American. Perhaps that is why me and my other family members have always taken dreams seriously. I called my Dad this morning and he informed me that my uncle (the father of the "cousin" who lived far away) had been in the hospital for pneumonia. The last time I had a dream like this was when, in my dream, my Dad told me this uncle was sick and that my Dad could "only see black." That was several months before my uncle (who was in the hospital) had a stroke and became paralyzed in half of his body and resigned to a wheel chair.
That was a long post. Sorry. But the only reason why I mentioned the dream is because it could be caused by ancestral visitation, which could indicate that the veil between the spirit world and material world could be thin.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but I am glad you asked me about my dream. After writing all of that out I realize that it has more to do with my personal situation right now than any indication of a general energetic movement everywhere. I have been attempting to deal with some negative, self-destructive patterns lately. I asked the Goddess for help yesterday, and this dream is a response. I think it is simply telling me that self destruction is a legacy in my family. By mopping up the blood with bread, it is as if I am consuming the "curse" of my family's past, and that I am feeding myself with the blood of my dead ancestors and relatives. In America, it is fairly obvious that ethnic minorities seem to have a shadow lingering over them. African Americans, although no longer slaves, have a high rate of poverty which is disproportionate for their population. Native Americans have the highest rate of suicide, and a very high rate of alcoholism, compared to other nationalities. No one can give a clear explanation for this, but it seems to be a lingering shadow of the oppression and violence that these groups have absorbed throughout the centuries here. I see that I must not consume this "blood" of my family. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to make such a long winded post, because now this is clear to me.

I don't know if anyone here follows astrology, but: Venus Retrograde from October 8th to November 18th. Under that influence, a lot of strange things happen. Especially within the realm of relationships. I've witnessed it in my personal life and in others'. These happen about once every 18 months or so. Last one was in early 2009 (which I later found out was a time I met someone intense only to have it fall apart once Venus was released). Venus is direct now (good), and will be released on the 20th. However, Mercury (ruler of communication) has now turned retrograde. :|

I do personally believe that planetary aspects can affect people profoundly, based on observation. I follow a very informative and interesting blog/site, I suppose PM if anyone wants the link because I'm not sure about the forum's rules on posting links as of yet...

my 2 cents

I get feelings like that every once and awhile. Sometimes something major happens soon after. One year it was a huge train accident nearby. Other times I can't tell exactly what it is and the feeling eventually goes away, like a switch being flipped. I've also noticed that sometimes energy is more concentrated around the anniversary of something major happening in the world. Stuff is still floating around out there and people pick up on it without realizing. Or it could be the change of seasons....that's a big shift in energy.

You are free to post links so long as they are suitable for the audience of this website (IE no porn etc... due to minors) and of course if they are relevant and your link appears to be both.

However... Why dont you take control of your own life rather than relying on, or blaming, planetary positions? Or indeed blame those who are at fault (be it yourself or someone else) rather than some mythical ideas about planets?

Astrology to me is just a psychological method of denial. Say you had a boyfriend but he was born under the influence of venus or something which made him a little unstable in that he would have violent outbursts. He hits you, but it isnt his fault because venus and jupiter have aligned and the energies of venus are massively magnified and that's he hit you. It's bollocks. The reason he hit you is because he is a violent, horrible person, but because you love him you make up an excuse for him. (This is all hypothetical but a good example) Same goes in life, you dont get a job interview but that's because mars is rising causing you to be a little sluggish and slow so you messed up the interview. Nope, you didnt get the job because you arent good enough *shrugs*. My personal opinion is that the weak or insecure hide behind excuses, lots of christians hide behind their god (oh it's ok, god looks after me, he knows im a good person and i can live up to his expectations) pagans blame the planets or energies or time of year or whatever else when in fact their own personality is flawed and broken and needs to be fixed and once that is resolved their lives will improve and they will become a stronger person. All fairly off topic but meh.

Back on topic i have felt nothing, though i dont profess to be particularly sensitive to these events since i dont think they exist or will happen, do we have a deadline for this "event"? Years, months? Days? Good/bad event etc? Until we do i am just going to assume it is crowd mentality *shrugs*.

EDIT: The title of this thread is also wrong, it should be "pagans" not wiccans, to suggest all pagans are wiccan is both wrong and insulting.

ehm.. I think that thing people call Apocalypse starts at the second half of 2012 and ends when the second half of 2013 is there, although I can be wrong. I think there is going to change a lot, but I do not think people will die or something >_>. Probably getting better to listen to nature? One page on the internet said something about people having codes put into their body, to identify them. Also, I read today that there once was a Gold ... of people, young and refreshed, after that came silver, bronze and this is Iron.. About Iron they said that they are already old when born. ehm..
I still don't feel right about living in this community with schools and stuff. It doesn't feel naturally. We were also not supposed to go to school in the ancient times. Well.. I don't have anything to say..
