Darkness Dreams...

Postby Soul » Fri May 14, 2010 5:37 pm

please can someone help me interpret my dream?

My Dream: I was surrounded by Darkness, and a deep voice called out to me, "Accept the Darkness." then I asked, "Accept the darkness?" and this happened like five times before I said, "I accept the Darkness." and the darkness around me swallowed me whole then when i opened my eyes i was in a rundown city that had a purple tint to everything.it was like i was in a skin suit that was entirely black, but it stopped at the neck, like a costume would if i were a superhero black and i could use my limbs as weapons. i went and did everything i wanted to, robbed places, have sex with anyone i wanted, basically i was in a sort of lucid dream, but as soon as i walked into the sunlight i woke up.

Im not sure if thats just me watching too much anime, tv, or being on the computer a bit too much, or it actually means something... i've tried saying that while i was meditating and everytime i do my body tingles a bit then it goes away.

well, yeah i need someones opinion that im not crazy and this dream actually means something.

Peace, Soul

Darkness tends to symbolize ignorance, evil, death, the unconscious, and fear of the unknown. If someone dreams of darkness coming upon them, it symbolizes a failed attempt at something in one's waking life, usually some sort of work attempt. However, since the light overcame the darkness in your dream (meaning that it brought you out of it, in a sense, since you woke up as soon as you entered it), it could mean that you will or are overcoming failures, if that's the case. It could also mean that when the voice told you to accept the darkness, it could have been saying continue to live in ignorance (of what, I don't know) - "ignorance is bliss," basically. When the light overcame the darkness, it could signal an awakening of some sort, meaning that you gained knowledge and were able to "come out of" that ignorance.

That's just my interpretation - the dream could mean nothing, or it could mean anything. The meaning is, at the end of the day, up to you to decide, because only you know what's truly going on in your life and how the symbolism in the dreams apply to it.

Dreaming about darkness can mean a few different things. Notably, there can be unresolved feelings you are having in relation to a particular fear or paranoia. It could also mean you are insecure about something. Also darkness in a dream can illustrate that you are "in the dark" about issues in your life and you need to find the light or what it is you're looking for.

Think about how any of this could relate to your real life.. :)
