Re: QUESTION~(Sexuality and yourself)

Name: Just call me Seigna ;) Age: 22 Sexuality: Asexual (am I the only ace here?) Religion: Finnish Recon with some family trad influences Beliefs: Lots of stuff. Can't really explain my beliefs in just a few sentences, but just for the sake of saying something , here's a short list of some of that...

Re: why arent you supposed to use spells all the time?

Just throwing my opinion in on the conversation that has been going on... In a way I agree with what many have already said; that it's not really "honoring" your gods if you keep bugging them with all your little problems and begging for spells to fix everything. But then again I'd say whe...

I'm a Finnish recon and a trad witch. I wouldn't call it actually a family tradition, more like a cultural one. Many of my grandparents' generation are somewhat familiar with it. My grandparents didn't even practice much, except my grandfather using some spells every now and then, but they had some ...

You could probably say I grew up with it - not exactly, but almost. I learned my first spells from my grandfather, and he (and my grandmother, too) taught me many other things about my current tradition as well. Those customs, traditions and little bits of knowledge were the foundation for my path, ...

I agree with the above post. If you don't think you could use it without knowing the details, don't take it. Although - could you possibly ask her about it? If she hasn't mixed it with other dirt collected elsewhere or just can't remember at all, she should probably be able to tell you all the detai...

@Elouise: I don't mind if you copy it, but if you're planning to use the translation, I'd better warn you that the spell shouldn't actually even work in English. The point in Finnish trad magic is that the power of the spell comes from the words you use, from the language itself. Thus the spell must...

@Elouise: Well, all my spells tend to be pretty much just long poems completely in Finnish, so I'd rather not write out a full one. I also have no idea how to explain anything phonetically, but I'll give a part of a shorter spell as an example, and translate the words, if that's okay? This would be ...

@Traumwandlerin: That's kind of a broad request. xD Any details on what exactly you'd like to know? I'd be happy to tell what I can, but I have no idea how to answer and what to say unless you can clarify a bit.

Traditional Finnish witch here. I work mostly through the power of words, sometimes using the aid of certain spirits. No complicated rituals and very rarely do I use tools. My craft is quite language-based, and the right words are all I need. No rules for my magic. I do what I wish, as long as I kno...

Don't know if your question applies to me, because I don't worship a single goddess/god/both. So that's not an issue to me. :P Personally I'm a hard polytheist. I worship a whole pantheon more or less, and there are both gods and goddesses present. Most of my attention goes to a god, though, and to ...

I'd say it depends on what kind of magic you practice. An altar is in no way needed in my practice, but for different paths and practices it might be essential. But if you don't follow an already established tradition with specific rules, I guess you'd better just try. See how things work without it...

I don't have a favorite. Never felt "connected" to any in any way, and I don't really get along with any of them either. I shall keep my distance when it comes to elements. That's the safest route. : P

All gods and goddesses are separate in my worldview. It just doesn't make any sense otherwise, and my experiences support my conclusion of them being separate.

Can't be sure, though. It's just my experience, as said.
