1. Candles in the Church - as light against spiritual darkness candles have been part of the church since earliest days
. A Christian’s life in candles - before or after church services, prayers can be offered in thanks for favors received, petitions for the needs of the living, in memory of the deceased, to honor Saints
. The votive rack serves as a focal point for candle 🕯 magic in the church; it’s good manners to cover the cost of candles used
2. The role of color in candle magic
. Biological reactions to visible light spectrum - red/orange stimulates, yellow/green is sustaining, blue/violet relaxes & is a bit germicidal
. Psychological uses of the visible light spectrum are therapy & rehabilitation

. The Church Triumphant consists of all the Angels, Saints, Blesseds & all within Heaven; the Church Militant consists of all living baptized & we may receive help & intercession when sought
. Offerings to the Saints - is like sharing gifts received with friends;
. To make contact with Saints - meditate, introduce yourself, chat; form a friendship from which goodness flows

. Tea light - burn time 2-4 hrs & 6-8 for thicker tea lights
. Votive placed in cups burn 10-15 hours
. Taper - burn time approx. an inch an hour
. Vigil lights - 5-7 days continuous burn

- use for hex breaking. Relic medals - 2nd & 3rd class relic medals have a bubble holding a swatch of cloth that touched an enshrined Saint’s body or clothing; serve as magical tag locks to Saints

card of the Saint & a similar 
medal; use a 🕯candle of desired burn time in the associated color; set these in your magical working space. Spritz the candle with holywater, anoint it with an oil while saying intent; lite the 🕯candle; & lite the associated
incense; pray for intercession using one of the book’s prayers or internet search; when the candle burns out the spell’s done - bless the holy card, themedal & yourself with holywater. Thank the Saint for their help; Carry the holy card & medal (in your wallet or pocket).*DIY: You could print images of the Saint’s holy card and medal & cover them with clear packing tape for durability

7. It’s over already?
Reading a candles’ flame
. A tall, strong flame - lots of energy, little opposition, outlook is good
. A weak flame - little energy, obstacles need to be overcome, spell may flop
. Candle keeps going out on it’s own - major obstacle in the way; review the situation making sure your facts are straight; & re-do at another date
. Resin Incense - open a window when in use; resins burn on special coals -not BBQ type; church quality frankincense and myrrh like Three Kings makes copious amounts of smoke; commercial cone or stick incense is easiest to use with less mess
. Disposing of your materials - allow candle stubs & incense ash to completely cool before disposing of in trash
; metal, glass, ceramic & stone can be washed and 
; use biodegradables

DIY Holy Water: Bless salt & water separately In the Names of the (+)Father-Mother, (+)Son and (+)Holy Spirit, I charge you creature of salt/water with the power to dispel harmful forces. Add 3 pinches salt to 1/4 cup water. Likewise bless light olive oil and add 1 pinch of blessed salt to 1-Tbsp oil. Add scents if wanted.
