Hi folks:update a thread for likes, dislikes, allergies etc is up. I put it in the sabbat/esbat section. Does that sound okay?

I'd love your opinions, do you think we should leave this open longer than Wednesday or do you think everyone who might want to participate has had enough time? Thoughts?

I guess I'm just old school, but setting up for Yule A month before Samhain seems just wrong.....

I do hear and understand what you are saying Ed. It is disgusting....I was in retail years ago, and the tree went up pretty grossly early....nobody likes that.

My thought that was that in my past experience....Some folks that are very busy and like to hand craft items might need time to use correspondences, and time to create. In truth I am speaking selfishly here. I'm up to my eyeballs in a full time university program and work. In the past my preference is to create something unique for my recipient. I personally will have a hard time come November and like to make use of Samhain energy. We also need to take into account shipping times. There is an Aussie recipient involved in the swap.

Now, I completely understand and agree Ed that folks shouldn't have Yule shoved in their faces before they are ready.

The shock to the system is just too great! Can we consider closing the swap officially October 1st? That gives Silversong a bit more time to look into a mailbox. I will get the names out, and take care of all of that kind of stuff, and then I promise you can forget about it officially until you are feeling like it's cool to look into Yule? That way I can start my thought and creation process and take care of my University stuff too. I will remind folks later in November about mailing deadlines etc. So we all have our packages for Yule.

Does that sound fair? Thoughts folks? Of course if others do feel strongly about closing the swap after Samhain then we can absolutely do that. I am flexible and can change my way of doing things.
