I'm in the process of making my own out of little bones.
so far I've got almost two thirds of the little knuckle bones I'm going to need (pig feet bones) but I need to get more and I've only actually carved about 10 of them. when I'm done I'm going to rub my own blood into the carvings to personalise them and empower them and bring out the carvings. (im going to use wise blood, I won't be cutting myself)

A lot of people find 'wise blood' disgusting but it's actually coming from one of the cleanest places in your body. It's also the ultimate expression of femininity, and blood without violence. I used to be really freaked out by my period, but once you become comfortable with your own body, it's really not that big a deal. While I, personally, find spook's runes to be a little too macabre for my personal tastes, they will be super-tuned to her because she is using wise blood.

They are unique and personal - no one else needs to touch them or use them, so who cares how they are made

I have made Runes out of wood, shell, stones and fimo - but Istill go back to using my Jasper one's.

As for better than Tarot - I love theTarot, but personally I find Runes more accurate and they seem to read better for me.

A bit of fun with your Runes (and a means of 'testing' them) - grab some paper and write down 100 questions. Take some time if you like, just jot them down as you think of them. You can split them into categories if you like (ie" play, work, love and home) and feel free to ask the same question more than once but make sure the question is re-phrased.

Using the Runes as 'yes', 'no' and 'un-sure' - ask the Rune your questions from 1 - 100 and write the answer beside the question. Look back on them and see if there are any contridictions. Every time I have done this, they have always been spot on.
