I would suggest a tarot reading or meditation. Also, I would suggest looking into Native American practices on spirit guides.
I found mine through meditation. I asked them to make themselves known to me and they eventually did, though it took some time and much pleading and wooing. For some people it takes more time. They enter your life when needed and sometimes stay but other times leave when they feel necessary. Do not be discouraged if it is not yet time for you to discover them.
