Winged Beings
Winged Beings
Does anyone know of winged-beings besides sylphs, faeries and angels? Could be any deities or mythological. I am collecting a list, mainly focusing on humanoid beings. Thanks ahead of time for any input!

MOTHMAN in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, U.S.A. taken from Wikipedia
In West Virginia folklore, the Mothman is a creature reportedly seen in the Point Pleasant area from November 12, 1966, to December 15, 1967. The first newspaper report was published in the Point Pleasant Register dated November 16, 1966, titled "Couples See Man-Sized Bird ... Creature ... Something".[1] The national press soon picked up the reports ...
And how about Nike?

Mercury?
I think the Chimera is sometimes depicted with wings and Gargoyle, not very humanoid though.

Valkyries are sometimes said to become swans and Freya has a cloak which allows her to turn to a hawk. There are Harpies and Pegasus. Dragons, fairies, griffins.

Re: Winged Beings
The bird men in various traditions from Easter Island to the Americas have wings. There's also the Anunnaki gods that were often times depicted with wings, as well... that's just off the top of my head. I'm sure there are a lot more... ![flying witch :flyingwitch:](images/smilies/FlyingWitch.gif)

Re: Winged Beings
Blu-Luna why have you decided to focus on humanoids?
I kind of forgot to see difference between that and animals in astral realm.

The wings of a dove are the prayers of the Earth...
Re: Winged Beings
Hypnos, Morpheus, Thanatos, and the Oneiroi (dream spirits). Eros (Cupid) and the Erotes, spirits of love and sex, also all had wings. The Greek gods of the four winds also had wings, as did Iris, Arke, Hermes, and probably quite a few others who aren't coming to mind. Sirens were also winged spirits, being part bird, part woman, or sometimes just a woman with wings. In Egypt there was Aset (Isis), Nebet-het, Nut, Ma'at, Mut, and others. Mesopotamian Ereshkigal likely has wings, as does Ishtar, Ninurta. Many deities and spirits in these areas had wings.
