Crafting Runes?

I found shards of a giant clam that I felt I should pick up and somehow work with, I've thought about runes because I have been contemplating making runes for a while and then finding these shards made me think maybe that those are what I should use. I was wondering if anyone on here would have any advice on this topic.

That sounds like an excellent medium, albeit a bit fragile. I would recommend painting the runes onto the shell with nail polish or acrylic paint, as sharpie tends to wear off. Plus it doesn't feel very witchy .
