Well I finally told my friend how I feel
About her drinking I guess I was tired dancing around it for all these
months I worry for her as she suffers from Migraines and drinking makes
her migraines worse as we both empaths and soulmates we feel each others
sadness etc.. By us being so close i get her migraines when she drinks..
I can't feel sorry for her as she is adult and decisions she made on her own .
She.. has other health issues and is mother I feel for her son.
She can stay mad at me but she been so unhappy since started drinking..
I like weight has been lifted for dancing the subject .
It does no good to drink and try make our problems away.
They are there the next day still.

Disconnect from your friend's energy. Speaking your feelings opened the block, now finish the job & let go.
Re: Well I finally told my friend how I feel
You might try an Al-anon meeting for some perspective.
At the risk of your own emotional self, let go...you cannot force someone to stop drinking.
Best wishes, FF

Not to be crass but I would be drinking with them and talking it through. There is an alchemy in drinking that I know can lift mental pressure. Otherwise I would just clear the scene and let them figure it out for themselves.
Re: Well I finally told my friend how I feel
Just because she is drinking now doesn't mean she will forever.
She is using it as a coping crutch, and doesn't need to told anything about it. Like you said she is a grown woman and would fair better with your support rather than your condemnation of her choice of release.
Best wishes to her.

Re: Well I finally told my friend how I feel
When things go bad, I tend to repeat to myself how fleeting and temporary everything is in life, things do change.
Try to support your friend to be best of your abilities, its better to keep out of drama and being judgemental at least. I have seen similar situations with my friends couple of times and its painful and damn difficult to cope with it. One time I said everything very bluntly to a (now ex alcoholic) friend of mine, I damn sure hurt his feelings, but he has told me later on that what I said was one of the reasons why he was able to pull himself together and sober up. He went to seek help and dealt with his problem in a way that surprised everybody who know him.
Just be careful, don't be too blunt with her... If she's drowning her bad feelings to booze, it is likely that she will stop when then situation has solved itself. Stay on her side.

Re: Well I finally told my friend how I feel
From my own experience with alcoholism (past) it is impossible to convince them that it is not working. Now that could be for two reasons:
- it is working (to forget pain, mental alchemy, see above)
- the person is deluded and seeking escape into that delusion
Luckily I was in the former character description, the grip of it can be frightening. I don't pity someone who is deluded, I tell them they should know. If it's positive at all, well, best hang in there for them - clearing your own concerns - because they probably do appreciate it.

Re: Well I finally told my friend how I feel
She is moving out the house away from the all stress around her.
Bad away from her child.. The only good thing we are only one state away from each other.
And away from her husband..
I'm trying to not let her stress conflict with mine.
We care for each other alot.
I understand why she does it..
Just worry for her.

I don't know I would tell her or how felt all these months
pushing me away at times I feel blaming me for situation ..
Just feel I need to get it out without hurting her.
She really hurt me at times I tired to be understanding...
Sigh at times I'm trying being a better person but times it's hard
When I want my best friend back ..
Sigh.

They have to follow their own path. Sometimes that means parting ways. Just like committing the old year to the past, it is occasionally necessary to do the same with people. In the meantime, support them and listen to them.stormofwind wrote:I don't know I would tell her or how felt all these months
