I went in my local spiritualist shop today, reiki healing etc. a new shop that opened up not so long ago near me.

I went in there looking for crystals, i was going to buy a quartz for my alter. Whilst looking acrost the crystals i was pretty much focusing on a specific tarot card deck "the royal tarot card deck", the look just fascinated me. I dont know why, silly i know.

Anyway, its my first tarot card deck and when i bought them i found out why they were so cheap (bought them for five pounds), they were used and old. When i come home, i inspected the pack and found inside blank tarot cards, about 4-6 of them (cant remember), my first question, why blank ones?

Anyway, After a little research via google i found out it was apparently "wrong" to use old tarot cards, used tarot cards? Can someone clear this up for me?

I took advice off of a friend to wrap them in my alter cloth, to fuse my own energies into it. But I dont know, it seems a blur right now. I dont know why i bought them. I have full intention of using them but remaining very cautious, But thing is i dont get paranoid easily over divination atall. But why a simple deck of old tarot cards?

Can someone give me advice?

out of curiosity i decided to get out the tarot cards and i didnt like what i saw when i dealed out, in a celtic cross fashion.

I have in the present, the fool. Ontop sideways, The Hanged man. In the immediate Future, Strength (upside down), Immediate Past is Six of wands (upside down) and ontop of the cross is the king of wands and at the very bottom the eight of cups.

Then aligned with the cross beside the celtic cross, in order from top to bottom; Five of cups, Five of wands (upside down), ten of wands and the eight of swords.

How i interperate this, is in the present, i have been foolish. Which i feel i have been for a very long while. Strength card i would display as my nan who cut ties with me, it is shown as a female in the picture with a lion biting her hand ("bite the hand that feeds with myself as the lion").

I believe the fool card and the strength card are coincided with the 8 of swords. Swords i would assosiate with crisis, which has actually happened between me and my nan.

The king of wands i would depict as myself, i hold the wand which i would interperate as me becomming more open with somebody or with my emotions, could be my girlfriend or just a thought, it could be my nan.

Ive finished the reading, How did I Do do you think? I'll post pics of my cards... see what you make of them. Constructive critisism is welcome, i only did one "reading" for myself today. Just to test my ability, would you say i had ability if it was readable just by this topic?

My reading pictures (celtic cross formation):

FEEDBACK WOULD BE APPRECHIATED GUYS. its my first expierience behind and holding the cards and working them so keep that in mind.

I have used tarot cards that were handed down to me from a family member. They are the ones that I prefer actually because my father got them the day before I was born and gave them to me on my 13th birthday. He always did tarot readings for me when I was little and i think its made me feel a lot closer to them. As long as you get a good feeling from them and they work fine, I would say that its okay. Putting your own energy into the cards was also a good idea. You might want to try doing it again, the previous owners energy may be linked to the cards.
