Ok, new to the forum and the craft but I'm about to go ranting so please stick with me.

My Mom is HEAVY catholic. If she even had a hunch I was into Wicca she would disown me. Period. It's sad I know, but thats just the way it is.

I even go to a catholic school. I have for my entire life. I haven't really ever questioned the religion until recently. I do feel a connection to a God (god? don't know if it should be capital or not apologies) but it never seemed to directly match the catholic/christian God of Abraham. My doubts even intensified as I continued learning about catholocism especially with the BS in africa and how they are telling the africans that condoms have holes that let AIDS through and that 'making love' is a sin.

Then I was reading a book and it taught me some about wicca. I then researched some more about paganism and wicca online and it just matched. I don't know how, it just felt right to me.

For one the God (god? if someone could clarify that would be great) in wicca matches the God I've felt a connection to since I was a kid. A Goddess also makes sense. It's the ying to the yang. And finally I found out that a little chant I used to say as a child to comfort my fears was actually a wiccan spell in latin. My birthday is even on Yule. Funny how fate works.

So that brings me to the next part. When is a good time to start practicing the Magick in Wicca. I am a teenager in a house where if I got caught I would be in big troubles. I know not all of Wicca is spellcraft and that it is also in learning and being one with nature which I am trying to do but I do want to bring my relationship with the Godess and the God closer. Any Advice?

Thank You.

Greetings. I find it interesting how similar our lives are. I suggest starting out with magic spells (You may want get get some basic knowledge before you dive into this. Meditation, energies, rituals, ect...) that leave no evidence. This means spells like creating a field of positivity around you or creating a protective barrier. You may also want to do some meditation, to help you relax and feel the energies around you. Now, after this you are going to have to go searching. You'll need to find a place in which you can do everything you wish to do without detection. This could be an unfinished basement or a clearing in a forest behind your house. You will also need to practice covering your tracks. Smoke smell will dissipate, but if you want to speed it up you can carry a hand fan. Candle wax (If any is spilled, which you should try not too) is not really effected by water and soap, and re-heating it wont do you much. It is best to let is harden and then scraping it away (I find ice scrapers really work well). If you can't get supplies from stores, see if you have any around the house. Almost all families have candles, and a few missing won't be that suspicious. As for colored candles, there has to be a way to color wax...(Even though I have been unsuccessful in coloring my candles). You will want to perform spells that can be seen when your parents are NOT able to see you. You can do this while they are out shopping, on a holiday, or even when they sleep. (Note that they can wake up and return from shopping, so be careful.) If your special place is inside the house, don't draw too much attention to the room or rooms you use. If you see your mom enter a room you have used, don't walk in after her and start asking questions or try to get her to leave. Just act normal. If it is OUTside the house, be sure that nobody follows you to your place. And if your mother does catch you meditating while incense is lighted, have an excuse ready. Tell her you were performing a special type of prayer. Have an army of explanations ready to march at your command. But most of all, even if your spells are simple and seem unspecial, know that they are special just because you have attempted them. And know that the Goddess/God lover all his/her believers just as much as the other, and will attend your rituals even if all you can offer to her is a bunch of pretty leaves. If you need any other advice, please ask me, for I would love to help.

If you want to be connected to God and Goddess, pray to them. A prayer is a thought and thoughts are not censored at the moment take that to your advantage. When you see a Full moon in the sky take a second to make a prayer. My Family is the same way ( but now that I am older they know and can't do anything about it) they hate that I am a witch and as a kid my mother found out and but me in a mental facility telling me witch craft is a mental disease. I learn that magic and spells do not have to happen in your bed room at 3 am, but in your mind and heart.

Just curious... what was that chant?

Many Blessings,

I actually don't know if it's latin but it's a chant to raise ones magickal energy, focus, and determination. Always works for me.

Btw, thanks all for the comments.

Old post ...

Re: when to start - when you are free to do so without creating drama, and when you see opportunities to use what you know to help.
Ex., use a short incantation to bless cooking for healing, ๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿฝdraw an invoking pentagram โ†™๏ธโญ๏ธ on the top of a morning cuppa tea or coffee for alertness in the day ahead, Drawing sigils or using the Nine Knot Spell are inconspicuous (see Simple Spells post in the Post a Spell section.). viewtopic.php?f=4&t=36682

A Christian Witch might pray to The Father-Mother God and petition intercession of Angels & Saints with prayer-offerings. You can look up prayers honoring Archangels, Guardian Angels & Patron Saints lists. A Spell Candle would be cleansed with Holy๐Ÿ’ฆWater, anointed with๐Ÿ’งoil, ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ charged with the intention, placed in a holder & lit; & your prayers, Bible verses or Psalms would be offered. Sigil & petition๐Ÿ“papers can be placed under candles & ๐Ÿ’Žcrystals, holy cards and relic medals as tag locks can be added beside the holder. Let a candle burn itself out & dispose of spent stubs ๐Ÿšฎ

Set up a home shrine using Christian Witchcraft (see that subsection)

Eko is like saying โ€œhailโ€ & means โ€œhere-isโ€ in Basque. Azarak & Zomelak may be regional deity names or titles.

Cernunnos is the name given to the "horned god" of Celtic polytheism. Over 50 examples of his imagery have been found from the Gallo-Roman period, mostly in north-eastern Gaul as well as among the Celtiberians. Cernunnos is depicted with antlers, seated cross-legged, and is associated with stags, horned serpents, dogs, bulls. He is usually holding or wearing a torc.

Aradia is one of the principal figures in the American folklorist Charles Godfrey Leland's 1899 work Aradia, the Gospel of the Witches, which he believed to be a genuine religious text used by a group of pagan witches in Tuscany. Aradia was portrayed as a Messiah-figure sent to Earth to teach the peasants witchcraft as protection against an oppressive elite class.

The folklorist Sabina Magliocco has theorised that prior to refernces in Gospel of Witches, Aradia was originally a supernatural figure in Italian folklore, who was later merged with other folkloric figures such as sa Rejusta of Sardinia.

Since the publication of Aradia Gospel of Witches, Aradia has become "arguably one of the central figures of the modern pagan witchcraft revival" and as such has featured in various forms of Neopaganism, including Wicca and Stregheria, as an avatar & actual deity. Raven Grimassi, founder of the Wiccan-inspired tradition of Stregheria, claims that Aradia was a historical figure named Aradia di Toscano, who led a group of "Diana-worshipping witches" in 14th-century Tuscany.
