That's going to take a while to work out, some of those have a lot of correspondences and uses. Just go online and start researching each one individually. Also, take some time to get to know each one and think about what feelings and effects each scent brings about with you, personally.

Not to make goth_kid lazy, but I thought I'd give some traditional correspondences. Sercee brings about a good point that scents are very personal symbols... they effect the deep parts of the brain like emotion and memory. I keep a scent journal, and I have about 30 different essential oils. These are not carved in stone: just traditional and stuff I found in books... and some of my own stuff. ;-)

Amber: The Sun. Fire, but spiritual fire. consecration, blessing

Jasmine: The Moon. Cool Water. Some use it for
love, but I use it for meditation. spirituality. soothing, sleep
emotional healing calming

Rose: Love. Romance, friendship, sex.
Earth and Water

Citron should have a lemon scent, with a taste of orange and a subtle underlying muskyness. On the other hand, if it's lemon, it will have a clean and uncomplicated lemon scent.

See: http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/morton/citron.html

Based on the smell you will have to figure out which one it is.
Citron is used for physical healing and purification. It's a common feature along with Bergamot, in citrus purificatonal blends. It tends to be more yang and associated with the sun.

Lemon is associated with the moon, and can also be used for purification.
Used to battle depression.

Orange Spice: Oranges are Solar in nature. As is Cinnamon, which is probably the major scent with the spice. Read further for more info.
If it's not cinnamon, then the second most likely spice is Clove, which is often sacred to the Goddess and is used for divination protection or love attraction.

Cinamon Spice: I tend to find that blends like these remind me of fruitcake or ginger bread. I don't find these associations useful for working magic, but some might think wealth (since it used to be only rich people who could afford the spices). See Cinnamon for more ideas.

Cinnamon: For bravery, and motivation, or in a spell to get things moving. It's very solar and fire. Mix with amber and you have the true essence of fire. Protective rites also work for this scent. Use sparingly in blends, as it tends to take over.

Vanilla: A simple scent with a lot of complicated associations. Since it's frightfully common these days, your feelings about it are very critical to it's effective use. Everything from exotic and erotic to bland and relaxing I've seen attributed to this scent. It's another scent, which is said to "promote well being and peace." I know it's used by some hospitals to help people relax and fight pain.

My Sources:

Magical and Ritual Uses of Perfumes by Richard Alan Miller
Wylundt's Book of Incense by Wylundt and Steven R. Smith
Magical Aromatherapy by Cunningham
Helping yourself with Magical Oils by Maria Solomon

They come from a range of traditions, notably from high ritual magic on the top to folk magic on the bottom. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground here. Use your best judgment.
I especially like the incense book... even though it's not about oils it does talk about the psychology of scent very nicely.

Well, I find that cinnamon takes sluggish energies and gets them moving. I also find that if you smell cinnamon and you are feeling sluggish, you get more energy. So I suppose it depends on what you mean by "physical" and "emotional" movement. You can't have physical movement until you have emotional movement. I know that for blends like "fast luck" often cinnamon is added to make the other ingredients work faster. It is also put on the forehead to stimulate the third eye charka.

Also, make sure that even the oil is applied very sparingly since you don't want this stuff in your eyes. It is even put in liniment ( it is an ingredient in tiger balm) to ease pain and increase blood circulation to the muscles before exercising. For this, you don't want to use very much, say a drop for every two ounces of liniment you have. So it works for physical movement too. :-) I hope I've made this more clear.

I have the perfect book for you! Magical Aromatherapy by Scott Cunningham its made to go along with his book titles "The Complet book of Incents Oils and Brews" ( or so the man told me atlest ). But the book is almost just a reffence book. Like i will only type up once thing on your list sence some of them can be long but heres an example of what it says about many differnt things.

(this was just the first one i got to)

Vanilla
(Vanilla Planiflora)
Part used: the dried, cured fruits ( beans )
Planet: Venus
Elament: Water
Magical Influences: Sex, Love, Physical energy, magical energy

Lore: The vanilla bean is the product of a native mexican orchid. A goddess of the vanilla plant was once worshiped there. In American folk magic, wemon place a few drops od vanilla behind their ears to atract men. ( my fionce LOVES vanilla he said its a clean pure smell )

Magical Uses:
The flavor and the seant is familiar due to its use in everything from nateral cream soda to cakes and ice cream. Vanilla extract, so avalible on grocery store shelves, shouln't be used for magical aromatherapy. Buy whole vanilla bean for a fue dollers.
The warm aroma of vanilla produces sexual arousal when sniffed with proper vintilation. More broadly, it can be inhaled to manifest a loveing sexual relationship. The sentual fragrance appeals equalty to both men and wemon.
The fragrence of vanilla revitaalizes the body, producing bioelectrical energy which can be channled into physical exertation or magical rituales. Sniff pror to makeing an extra effort.

( i did go threw the book and though it has alot of things it didnt have amber, citron, cinnamon spice, or orange spice ( but it has orange ). )

See if you can get either of the books at the library. ( magical aromatherapy or the complet book or incence oils and brews) If you liked the information given on vanilla i can type out rose jasmin and cinnamon.
Merry Part

Scott Cunningham has a prejudice against artificial scents. I'm surprised that he doesn't mention Citron in Magical Aromatherapy, since the fruit is very heavily scented. OTOH, he does come from a time when Citron wasn't as readily available to American readers.

One of the nicest things about the above book is that it's a great guide for folks who want to use naturally derived scent (not artificial) but can't afford pricey essential oils.

He does mention it in The Guide to Oils, Incense and Brews, but uses dried Citron in incenses and doesn't mention the oil, largely because at the time he was writing, it wasn't available in essential oil form.

Helping yourself with Magical Oils by Solomon is an extensive guide to artificial scents and many blends not mentioned elsewhere. It is written by a member of the community who uses them. If that's what you have, it's probably the best guide.

I like amber for any spell promoting self-confidence. I think both cinnamon and vanilla are supposed to be sexually charged, but I find cinnamon to be much more so than vanilla. I don't know if that's an individual thing or not, but I never use cinnamon unless sexuality is my intent.

For What It's Worth, Vanilla has never been terribly sexual for me, either. I've read somewhere that Vanilla works mostly for men in the sexual arena. This seems odd to me, since it's vibe is very hermaphradidic. You think it would work for both.

As to why cinnamon would give one a headache, I have a couple of ideas:

1. You are allergic to it.

2. It raises your energy levels so high you get an energy headache.

Oddly, I have found there to be a corilation between energy headaches and ice cream headaches.

If grounding gets rid of your headache, there's your answer.

Amber

This golder genstone is a favorit among witches and is beaded together in a necklas with jet. Tjis special necklace symbolizes the power of the goddess and is worn only by the high preistess of the coven.Wear or carry amber for protection and success. A stone that contains a beetle or fly trapped within its center is said to bring fame. Add resin to prpsperity formilas and whear the oilfor protection of to ecpower your magical path. Men may wear this oil to atract lovers.

Citron
Ruler: Yahweh, Kwan-yin
Type: Fruit
Magical Form: whole
prized in the ancient worlds by many cultures, the lemony sitron has both a fragrnt smell and a good test. It represents a person whose knoledge or study permeates and infuences his or her action. The citron is the fruit of choice for raisingcontiousness and propelling an indavigual into reaching his or her full potential. It sweetens the lesson of life and makes them easily incorperated. In the Chines tradition, the fruit is places in a bowl on and alter in the most predominat room of the house. As a fragrance spreads, it will infulence those inthe dwelling the best thay can be. In kabbalistic or ceramonial magic, the fruit is endergized by holding in both hands andvibrating the name of the hebrew god--"Yahweh," "Andonai," "Y'hovah."

And i am terablie sorry but for some reson i feel awful today and i will type the rest up asap thay dont have orange spice or cinnamon spice in that book though. Sorry.

Many people are allergic to it (like my mother) are you sure you are not? It may be that simple.

I love cinnamon, now and then I'll put a stick of it in a pan of water and let it simmer on the over for a few hours. But I know quite a few people that just can't handle it, whether it be because of allergies (common) or it's just 'too much' for them. It can be very powerful in ways besides scent, so I definately think jcrowfoot nailed it.
