Having someone's name on you

Hiya! Long time since I've been on here, although I do tend to do that with the internet. I just forget to go on stuff :P

Anyways, I was thinking about this today, and if this isn't the right location for this apologies.

I know in a lot of spells that are to do with another person that by including their name you can sort of attach a little of their essence to it, and it got me wondering in the context of when people get name tattoos what sort of spiritual ramifications that could have.

Everyone always says it's incredibly stupid to tattoo someones name on yourself. I personally never would only for the reason I don't like word/letter tattoos. But I was wondering, if part of you is attached to your name, could then having your name on someone else's skin attach you to them?

I used to love to draw on my skin as a kid and would ALWAYS write guys names I had crushes on on my arm or leg etc, and I noticed that many if not all of them would pop back into my life from time to time, if they even ever left. Also, when I went through my first ever break up and I self harmed at the time, I admit that I carved his name into my arm. We didn't speak for 5 years before he somehow tracked down one of my email accounts and we've been friends since.

Now it could be entirely unrelated, but I was just curious if anyone here had any input to this. Would it be right to say that by having someone's name on you you are partially connecting them to you?

Tattoos represent identity. Yes you can write their name on you to identify that way. Just don't be blind. :)

One may be making a permanent mark for a bond that may not last that long.
I know of countless people who are separated from the person that is tattooed on their body. So it causing some sort of link, chain or connection to the other, it doesn't seem to make a difference.
In my opinion the only names one might want to tattoo on themselves is that of their children, who might go (move) away yet they will always be your flesh and blood.
I had initials of a boyfriend long gone now that had to be covered with more ink. The basis of the ink is still there but he isn't, nore do I know what became of him. No link...thank goodness.

Ps...good to see you again! :fairy:

Tattoos tend to represent important things in a person's life. So they would be bonded to you in your memory. But to magically bond someone to you I think a ritual and some type of body fluid would have to be involved.
