Trick/Practical Magick?

Hey there all,
I don't necessarily consider myself a Wiccan and I know that this is a forum for all pagans so I have this question for all pagans. Are there any small "spells" that are easily cast on the go or in public without being necessarily noticed? I know tarot cards are sort of an example of this. Something easily done on the fly without a ritual or altar with candles and such being needed. A sort of on-the-fly spell would be more efficient for my life style and might help me with certain emotional issues such as anxiety and depression. If you have any please share!
Thanks,
-Aesiryth

I would suggest looking up grounding, centering, and shielding, if you're not already familiar with them. There are some complex ways to do these things, but a lot of them are very simple exercises, no tools required, and they might help you in the day to day with depression and anxiety. Repetition of a prayer, chant, mantra, etc, with or without prayer beads have helped me with anxiety, as well. I used to put the beads in my pocket and repeat the chant in my head while on the bus. Very discreet, but can be very calming.

This is my go-to spell. Needs no tools, no supplies, no altar and is portable. You're going to raise some power, program it, and release it. Always work from center. Always ground energy when done.
Center yourself in your gut. Imagine misty tendrils of energy rising from the Earth & swirling around you.
Think of the goal or thing, picture it. Feed it to the spiraling mist.
Feel that ah-Ha! Moment when it is yours, and let that emotion flow into the mist.
Speak 3 positive affirmations into the misty swirling energy that confirm it, and
Let it go with an exhale, push & send it off.
If you want something more touchy-feely:
Stand where it is open & clear, then think-feel-say and write the goal on the wind with a finger. Face the direction associated with the goal. North (earth) for home & prosperity; East (air) for communication &travel; South (fire) for love & physical health; West (water) for emotional health & psychism.
Think-feel-say & Write on flowing water that moves towards you to attract something, or moves away from you to get rid of something.
Clench your fist around a stone, squeeze your intent(think-feel-say) into it, and then cast the stone in the associated direction or water flow. (see both above)
If you are in a fancy department store with two or more floors, ride the escalator up-up-up and raise power by feeling yourself rising. This also be done on a playground swing set, by concentrating on the UPs and relaxing in the downs. When finished, use the downs to ground your power before getting off the escalator or swing.
The idea here is to use whatever environment you are in to mold and empower your on-the-fly spell, and to use the same spell sequence think-feel-say & let go. Always work from center and always ground your energy when you are done. Failure to ground can make you spacey, leaves you open to wandering
influences, and is sloppy spell casting. Un-grounded energy waffles around aimlessly until something else uses it.

I personally prefer using gemstone charms for balancing and protecting. You only need to cleanse and charge it once a week, and after a while maybe only once a month (as the energy program builds up).
I wrote my most recent experimental process here:
Zodiac Supplementation with Gemstones
But there are many websites on the specific properties of gemstones.
