Elixers

Hey Chris,
Got another question for you about this. I asked before, but it ended up going in the astrology section. Have you worked much with elixers? Are the effects any different than it would be to wear or carry the stone? It seems to me that this could potentially be a more powerful way to use the properties of stones.
How long do the effects last? You could program it yes, but does the amount of time that the liquid travels throughout your body play a part in it as well? If the effects of this could be long lasting that would be absolutely amazing!!
As you said, some stones you can't do this with so what is the best book for this kind of info on the stone. You only see that stuff in herb books.
There seems to be so much potential for elixers that I'm wondering is there a reason that more people don't do it.
An example that I'm thinking of is could you use a stone that works with divination before you do a reading. Healings stones when someone is sick. "Astral water" before that sort of work? I'm wanting to plop my stones in water right now! 24 hours in water I'm guessing?

Quite similar to color infusions and herbal infusions, crystal infusions draw the energies from the crystals/stones that are chosen, into the water to be consumed by the recipient at a later time.
If done well, and stored in the refrigerator, crystal infusions can be stored up to two weeks. Some crystal healers use an alcohol such as vodka to help in the preservation of the infusion.
1/4 part alcohol to 6 parts distilled water
NEVER use rubbing alcohol as a preservative!
To prepare a crystal infusion, select your stone or stones and place them in a clear glass jar.
Once you have charged the stone(s) to your purpose by holding them gently yet firmly in your hand and sending your wishes for healing into them, place them in the jar. Add to this two to three cups of distilled water, that has just come off the boiling point. Cover with the lid (glass if possible, if not – use a small glass plate or coaster – if absolutely necessary, use plastic wrap). Place the jar in a window where it will get the light of both the sun and moon for at least 24 hours.
When it is ready to use, combine one part infusion to one part regular water and drink once a day. Another method would be to add the entire infusion to your bath water.
Crystal and gem elixirs are most commonly used to heal physical conditions or alignment's that are lodged in the physical body.....These elixirs are helpful in shifting the body into a high vibration, so that the physical malfunction finds it difficult to maintain it's hold....
Elixirs can be combined with flower essences to produce a 'complete remedy' for individual needs, but should not be used with homeopathy because of its possible contra - indications....There follows a list of crystal essences and the complaints they help....
Amazonite: Helps one to aline with nature and brings about balance...
Amethyst: Treats headache's and nightmare's and can increase well being.....
Azurite: Helps arthritic complaints..
Black Tourmaline: Helps to relieve stress...
Calcite: Helps maintain healthy bones...
Diamond: Helps to increase alignment with one's higher self...Good for clearing the mind..
Emerald: Promotes peace, harmony and balance....Good for hyperactive children..
Moonstone: Treats premenstrual tension and fertility problems..
Obsidian: Soothes stomach upsets...Good for motion sickness..
Quartz: ( clear ).. Helps to strengthen the aura, also good after hard physical work...
Star Sapphire: Helps lift depression...
Always remember that these are not a substitute for medication and that you should always consult your doctor with any medical issues......

Just remember that some stones aren't suitable for placement in water - calcite being one of them (alongside opal, amber, etc.) - because the water will damage the stone over time. If you want to use elixirs of these stones, it is best to imagine the energy of the stone flowing into the water - but if you're going to do that, you might as well imagine the energy of the stone flowing directly into you!
