Circle casting...help please?

Im looking for suggestions of how to cast a circle and close it properly.
Is there a simple method please?

The formula is cleanse-bless-cast. Sweeping widdershins is a simple way, then light some incense. Pull power on the breath to your solar plexus (gut), point-&-push while walking deosil. That’s all there is to a circle. Calling 1/4s is an option and not mandatory. If you summon you must also dismiss. Air draw a banishing pentagram . Thank and bid adieu to deity if you invited any. The circle dissipates when walked through.

SpiritTalker made a great suggestion. A few times when I have been in a rush but I still wanted to erect some kind of circle, I walk around in a circle and sprinkle salt whilst asking for the elements to join me, then ask for my spirit guides/goddess/god to protect me and join me in the sacred space. To close I just thank my spirit guides ect and walk counter clockwise to 'close' the circle.

Really simple but I find it works great for me.

Almost every book I've read tells us to sprinkle salt & raise energy to channel it and lay down the circle with our intent, (by visualization.) Salt cleanses by neutralizing. Once you have cleared unwanted vibes away we need to fill the gap with something. Just me I suppose but I don’t use salt all the time, & not out doors as it kills the plants & the is already sacred. There are cleansing herbs that could be scattered and afterwards provide nutrients. Broom sweeping is a folk magic method.

And asking your other friends-of-power to support and protect you - yeh, that is a good idea.

Yeah, well I've always sprinkled salt regardless, as a safety measure I guess... But I totally get what yoi are saying.

I like using what I call the "fog-buster" to make a circle...raise energy up from the Earth and draw it down from the Stars to meet in the belly, then push it out in all directions in one big "go". I sometimes accompany it with twirling a faceted lead crystal sun catcher on a string, around and around like a lasso to break up stagnant energy. It's not proper circle casting form by any stretch of the imagination, but it still works. I get bored using the same old same old all the time.

It's a polite touch to address the Powers and the directions (anywhere from 3 to infinity), most especially when out doors in Nature, and surely if the circle is part of a ritual for worship.

SpiritTalker; I'm trying to get back into spell casting again
I'm low in confidence with it though as I don't want to attract anything negative plus I want to do the spell I have in mind properly and I guess casting a circle before and closing it afterwards would be wisest choice

You'd be Ok with a simple circle. Those basics of cleanse, bless & cast and afterwards dissipate the energy are pretty much it. Hold thoughts of clean energy pushing away sludge when sweeping to enforce positive energy.

The basic thing to keep in mind is to always close what you open. If you build something you have to deconstruct it. If you welcome or invite someone, you have to thank and release. If you raise energy, you have to dissipate it or ground it. Every step you add you have to undo. It's like picking up after yourself.

When working your spells you will probably charge the spell and that energy is released as the spell does it's task. Centering gives you that focus as you'd be pushing energy into the spell, and as long as your feet are on the ground you have Earth energy as a resource. If we’re not doing spiteful spells we aren’t attracting negative energy feeders.
