First circle cast attempt

tl;dr version:
I attempted to cast a circle for a ritual to celebrate Litha at night (I'm in the broom closet). I didn't feel anything different till I stopped envisioning energy flowing at then I was freezing, it was cold in room before and after. Success story?
Long version:
Yesterday I was reading Wicca and finally got to the sabats. I noticed when I was reading that Litha was the same day. So when I got home I took the dog out and sat in front of the sun to celebrate a little. I'm still in the broom closet so kept it simple. I then waited till I was in my room where my altar is and tried a ritual which turned out comical if someone with experience saw.
I have a stick I am going to make my wand out of but haven't started it so I just used the stick to attempt to cast a circle. It was then I realized I was celebrating the goddess when the sun was up when I was meaning to celebrate the god for Litha. Which another question I have is if that matters or if you celebrate both on sabats and esbats.after my room it is cold in the summer and hot in the winter which is nice. When I was envisioning energy gathering around my wand and drawing a circle to direct the energy I didn't feel much change. It was when I got up to go to bed and stopped envisioning the circle that I noticed a difference. I was freezing after! Does this sound like a success story?
