The Power Within - experiment

That might seem ignorant of me and I apologize if that's the case, as I don't have much actual experience in that area. I'm not yet sure to what extent should I take things I read about seriously and if I'm not reading too much into them... but I have a question referring to an experiment proposed by Raymond Buckland in his book "The Complete Book of Withchcraft". In it he ask you to have your friend's bare back face you as you keep your arm stretched and fingers together and move it up and down along their spine. They should feel something, as you "send your power" through your stretched arm. I don't know people even remotely interested in the topic and the perspective of asking any of my friends to test it with me makes me shiver inside with the fear of ridicule (please don't judge, we're not all quite *there* yet). Could you please comment on that or perhaps try this experiment yourself and tell me honestly how it turned out? Did I misunderstand something, or maybe it's as clear as it seems and the only way is to try it myself?

A new friend(at the time) did something like this
but it was for but it was for seeing if I could sense
where she is pointing along my spine which was where
she found my energy level; BOY I was way off ! There
was a higher level than what I felt, I thought she was
pointing to my orange chakra and she was at my heart
chakra. Now if I'd have known she was going to do that
I wonder if I could have sensed where she was ???
I have only one pagan(so far) friend here, she lives
about 20mi from me so it's hard to get together all
the time(long story). I will try this with her and see
what happens, I'll post results.

I'm bringing up an old post. A friend and I did energy sensing, first with the palms of both our hands as we sat facing each other across a table. There was a squishy, spongy repelling. When facing each other, it was his right to my left. Then I crossed my arms and we held our palms toward one another, so we were right to right and left to left. They attracted rather then repelled.

Holding my right palm to his back, he very clearly identified which area I was near, and my palm was 4-6 inches away from him. Then when he held his right palm to my back, I only felt it between my shoulder blades and top of my head. Both of us are right handed, so our dominant hand or "sending" hand is the right hand.

He worked at one of the shopping malls in town, and he honestly knew when I walked into the store where he worked, even though he was in the stock room. He came out to the floor room because he knew I was there.

Have others tried these energy sensing games? They are good ways to develop psychic senses. The sending/receiving exercise above works well because you get feed back, but receiving can be done alone with plants, trees, and pets.
